Did you know? Portland could have been named Boston! The city ’s founders flipped a coin to decide which of their hometowns their new city would be named after, Portland, ME or Boston, MA.

JFK section is really cool, also learned a lot about Oregon's history. They also have a hands on kids area in the basement .

Great!! I'm a museum enthusiastic and this one was very nice. Small but rich in content, the staff was fantastic.

Look for the Portlandia clip when you select the video Oregon Artistry -- it is hilarious.

It was all right. Very Oregon focused but not very big. They have many opportunities to get in for free.

Excellent museum to learn about Oregon history

This place was great on a rainy afternoon. My favorite part was the old newsreels showing a wilder Oregon that doesn't exist anymore.

Stop by the museum store for good oregon memorabilia and a chat with Andrew who is a fount of information on oregon history .
