Local? Just get a membership. The boats are upen 8am to 8pm, and its just a great place to come sit by the water and lift your spirits.
It was really good even though about 3 ships were closed for maintenance/reconstruction. The submarines were amazing; one Soviet submarine and one modern US, and the view is beautiful!
We toured Star of India , HMS Surprise , San Salvador, Medea yacht, Berkeley steamboat and USS Dolphin submarine . Some steep stairs/steps. Each vessel has unique & interesting features. Worth the visit.
You get an awful lot for your admission here. The Russian submarine delighted my niblings, while my favorite is the Star of India , particularly the bottom half. Don't forget the steam ferry !
Great museum with lots of fun ships to go on and in. That said, the guy at the front desk when you check in is a massive asshole and needs to go.
Admirers of Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series will love visiting the movie adaptation's HMS Surprise at this museum . Exhibits show what life was like for the British Navy at sea.
Such a cool place to visit! Walking through the submarines was the best part.
The Star of India is well worth a visit, but overall this site is run down. The other ships/boats are not much to speak of, and many of the exhibits were closed for repairs or just broken.
Excellent museum/experience! Several ships to tour...a Russian sub , a US sub , and others.
Must see! I highly recommend this museum
Good variety of boats and ships . Interesting to compare the Soviet submarine with the US submarine
Calling all boat lovers! Check out the Maritime Museum of San Diego for an afternoon of learning about the local seas and its historic vessels .
This museum contains different types of water transportation, and you can tour them all
Submarines were my favorites. Great exhibit in the main ferry boat
A great couple of hours, and the $5 extra for the harbor cruise is worth it.
The $3 on top of admission for the harbor boat tour is worth it! Gorgeous collection of ships/boats/subs here to explore :-)
I was on the Berkley for a NYE event . We didn't leave the dock but the staff really put on a great party ????????????
Super Museum . It's recommended to book the tour on the Pilot.
Stop by the model-building workshop- the craftsmen are very friendly & love to talk about their projects. :-)
1 ticket= 7 ships . Do it.
Love this place!
The extra $3 for a boat ride around the harbor is totally worth it.
Do a sail on Stars and Stripes!
Star of India Is sailing again on November 14, 2023 for its 160 anniversary
Go upstairs to take a poo
Love September's Festival of Sail !
Интересная экспозиция . Особенно понравились подводные лодки , советская и американская. Посещение стоит своих денег 16$.
Очень понравился музей ! Абсолютно стоит своих денег ! Можно везде полазить, все потрогать!
