There's an option on the menu where you can pick a few adjectives and let the bartenders surprise you. Do it. You definitely will not be disappointed.
I went for happy hour and it was absolutely amazing. One of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. They have 2 cocktails , some sort of whiskey , and some small apps for only $5! Highly recommend this place
The finger foods are so good! The mixed drinks are sublime, super cool atmosphere. Most interesting flavors iin the drink, a real treat if you want something different, unique and delicious.
by far the best cocktails I've tasted in the city…my absolute favorite: Saddle Bum; great complexity of flavors and a pleasant aftertaste
Best cocktails in Charleston and very great place to go off menu . Bartenders are great. Choose two words and they're off!
Great, inventive cocktails . Be prepared to wait, but the drinks are worth it.
Bar tender and servers really know their stuff! Be sure to get the crab dip . It's amazing. Be adventurous and go with the bar tenders choice deal. He will make you something delicious!
The food is spectacular. Try the grilled cheese . The cheese is grilled on the outside & ham on the inside. Sooo good.
Amazing cocktail bar ! Has a cool Bartender's Choice option where you provide 2 descriptive words from a list and they make a random cocktail that matches them!
Great drinks and cocktails but only one server for entire place. Took us about 15mins to take order and this large party of 6 walked out for not being served. Try to come when not busy.
Great cocktails and tasty desserts . I recommend going with the Bartender's choice as the menu can be overwhelming. Also, don't expect vodka , they have none.
Love the space, especially during the day (great natural lighting and decor) Favorite cocktail ... Without a doubt!
Look up the extensive cocktail menu on their website, theginjoint.com. The cocktails listed on the regular menu are a sadly abbreviated version of what this bar offers. Real drink menu is 19 pages!
Bartenders choice! Great speakeasy that’s a must-stop
excellent place for a sip while you're waiting for a dinner reservation elsewhere. share a couple of adjectives and they will make you a drink!
My fav cocktail joint in the world. Knowledgeable , intuitive, sociable bartenders . My vote is for Flowers & Ashes or the Watson's Stash, or just let your b'tender pick.
Cap a night off with a Gin and Basil Smash or a “Rum and Coke ” made with small-batch bourbon and house-made cola. For more local tips, follow us on 4sq or check out www.renhotels.com.
The cocktails here Wer amazing. Has a very good collection of alcohol varieties. Not the best place for food though.
Pick 2 adjectives off the list and pick a liquor for a bartenders choice. The liquor list is LONG and diverse!
Always love the Bartender's Choice drink options. Rose creme brûlée was fantastic.
Awesome cocktails . Do a bartenders choice: ask for spicy and smoky.
If you're feeling adventurous, try the bartender's choice ! Choose two adjectives from a list and they'll concoct a specialty cocktail just for you.
What a cool atmosphere. Great selection of drinks. There is even a "bartender's choice " that uses key words.
Piquito Picante is refreshing and too easy to drink. Didn't drink one but noticed their mint juleps are served in silver mint j glasses! So this place is #1 in my book . Great people watching on patio
Love this place, can't say it enough. Let the bartender choose your drink by picking 4 adjectives .
Fantastic cocktails that change regularly. Be risky and have some fun by going dealer's choice.
great cocktails . perfect pretzels .
Really awesome cocktails . Definitely go for the bartender’s choice!
Bologna sliders sound weird right? I too was afraid some Oscar Meyer bologna was gonna come out. Boy was I wrong!! SO GOOD!!
Take a risk with the bartenders selection section!
Imbibe Magazine listed The Gin Joint as pouring some of the Best Classic Cocktails in the South in their March/April 2011 Southern Issue.
I am not a sweet drink lover, but the peaches and cream is amazing!
Try the Poquito Picante , it has Broker's Gin (I'm not a gin fan normally), Cointreau , Lemon , Habanero , Cucumber & Cilantro ... refreshing & delicious!!!
Creative cocktails served into the wee hours.
Great selection of gin , rum and whiskey . Cool pre-prohibition style.
Hard to go wrong with a 4 page rum list. And good cheese/snacks too!
Monticello mule is probably the most refreshing drink ever. Food here is good to boot.
The grilled cheese is amazing! Loved the beef Jerry and pimento cheese as well .
Gin-basil smash (allegedly a secret menu order) and happy hour everyday, 5-7pm.
Gin basil smash . Order it even if it's not on the menu
Great cocktails and small plates ! Highly recommend
All the cocktails , both craft and classics!
Very good, if slightly fussy, cocktails
Our top cocktail picks = Rocket Science, Mailman, South of the Border, & the Peg Leg!
Ask for the gin basil smash , even if it's not on the menu .
All the cocktails , both craft and classic.
Everything is good here, try the Tokyo Rose or the Traveler's tonic
Try their Absinthe and gin and basil cocktails ! The most amazing cocktail I've ever tried
Go with the bartender 's creation! I was given an Elderberry Collins. I'm hooked.
