Absolute best sushi I've been lucky to enjoy. It's not masa priced but its still expensive . I'd definitely say its worth it and that you must go! Find an excuse! Mouth watering! Gorgeous!
sake selection was very good -- try from their chefs choice menu! omakase has great quality fish and creatively delicious garnishing (much like gari)
Agree with others it's all about the nigiri here. Chef was trained by Sushi Gari and there's some similarity. While good, it's not the best, in the UES, definitely in the top 5.
Fresh, with great taste especially spicy scallop . Its great that it stays until really late. Unfortunately it doesn't have any specialty fancy roles, but if you like the basics you should visit this.
Food was very good (rolls, miso soup ), service excellent, but our meal was interrupted by large waterbug/cockroach that jumped on us, circled dining area-couldn’t finish. They were gracious, comped.
Quality is good even if many pieces can be found in other places. Crunchy scallop hand roll is one of my favorite things.
Do yourself a favor and get the grilled yellowtail with salt and the special ankimo (monkfish liver ) that is sautéed. Amazing sushi in a non-pretentious atmosphere.
Amazing sushi . Just order nigiris . UNI, TORO , EEL , whatever you want! Everything is so fresh that it melts on your mouth!
This Upper East Side favorite keeps late hours and walks a nice line between traditional and creative preparations. Read more
Just one thing get nigiris ! The quality of fish is so good that you don't want to make it more elaborate. Delicious! Enjoy!!!!
Always good ! Filled with foreigners- even better sign ! This place is just great all the time - even the cooked food - just perfect!
Another sushi must in New York City . While very similar to Sushi of Gari’s menu in terms of specialty sushi pieces, the major draw here is that the restaurant is open until 3AM.
Stay until 3am at this late-night sushi spot , and you might just catch celebrity chefs like Daniel Boulud and Gordon Ramsay who often frequent here after work.
Simple yet unforgettable, the spicy scallop roll has NYC raving about it. The texture of the scallops is faultless and the mayo over the fish has just the right spice to keep the scallop taste strong
Far from traditional. Each piece features unique toppings . My favorites were the salmon with roasted tomato and chopped eel with avocado .
Our pick for the best omakase in NYC, but it's only worth it if you get a seat at the sushi bar . (Make a res!) Spicy scallop roll to finish it off is a highlight.
Open until 3am, it's where many of New York sushi chefs go when they finish up work. Sit at the sushi bar , you may see chef Anita lo (annisa) since it's one her favorite places.
Excellent, fresh, quality sushi and sashimi . Perfect mid-range - not neighborhood low brow and not elite. Love it.
Probably one of the best Omakase in NY! The restaurant is not fancy , but it's authentic japanese cuisine at its best.
Try one of the signature rolls. Spicy Scallop Roll was great! There are some unique dishes on the menu so this isn’t your “typical” sushi joint .
The best thing here is Crispy Scallop Hand Roll ! Other than that, there is nothing special about this place, fish is not super fresh and hand rolls seem to have too much rice in it.
The late hours lend a boozy , jovial atmosphere, but don’t drink too much—you’ll want to remember Seki’s artful , picture-perfect offerings with more than just Instagram’s help. Read more
We absolutely loved the experience from the sushi bar – if those seats are available be sure to take them. The beef teriyaki was cooked perfectly, not too tender and not too chewy.
Fresh delicious maybe best place in city for Sushi . Spicy Scallop roll a must.
Delicious california roll , tea to end the meal, fresh green salad , good service !
Get the spicy scallop hand roll , salmon with seared tomato sushi , and yellow tail with Jalepeno sushi . Call ahead for a reservation – Sarah K.
The sautéed tomato piece is amazing, the eggplant amazing
Snowpea salad , maguro avocado , Salmon with sautéed tomato , tuna with tofu sauce, sautéed white fish , fluke tempura
musts: eel avocado , snow crab , young yellowtail with jalapeño sauce , spicy scallop handroll , tuna w/ onion and garlic , salmon with cooked tomato , raw and/or seared scallop , sauteed white fish .
So fresh! And yummy. The sushi rolls are so good, you don't even need the soy sauce or condiments.
Splurge on the omakase and let Chef Seki take charge of your meal, masterfully putting together piece after piece of sushi heaven.
Spicy Scallop Hand Roll , Spicy Scallop Hand Roll , Spicy Scallop Hand Roll .
good but I probably won't return. they have a hybrid approach between traditional nigiri and gari-style funky seasoning. I prefer traditional to funky seasoning but the latter to hybrid. not for me.
Omakase . Tuna avocado salad . Salmon tomato . Spicy scallop hand roll . ????❤
New in their Omakase rotation: fluke tempura with a tempura shiso leaf. Amazing!
Get the spicy scallop handroll and make sure they make it crispy . This is a really a special dish.
Best sushi in town if you do the Omakase at the sushi bar .
Part of the sushi seki restaurants . I️ prefer the vibe of this location. The food is delicious, but expensive for what it is.
My (super japanese) sushi chef said "I got dis" when we asked for more omakase . Word.
Chef Didier Elena eats here on his nights off. He loves the Spicy scallop maki . Read more
If you like Sushi of Gari, you will like Sushi Seki as it serves essentially the same style of sushi . But Sushi of Gari UES is better.
Their unagi over avocado sushi is actually better than gari's. stunned.
Great omakase selection . Fresh fish
#TheBest you have to get the Nao sushi and spicy scallop roll . Everything is great though!
Sit at the bar , tell Seki what you like, and let him work.
Beef negamaki is amazing
