Amazing place! Be sure to head down into the trench and into the buildings. Spooky but cool and beautiful in an industrial way.
Friends and I came here for paranormal reasons and it turned out to be a lot more than that. Very interesting place.
Make sure to pick up the self-guided tour brochure at the visitor center. It provides a lot more information than the signs!

The proper name is Sloss Furnaces National Historical Landmark. The furnaces produced iron in Birmingham for nearly 90 years. The attraction is closed on Monday.
This was on a list of indoor activities. It is almost entirely outdoor.
