I was so excited to eat here after hearing great things. We had chilaquiles ; steak and eggs plate for breakfast . Delicious! Beans and sauces we tasty. Environment is fun and it’s across the Mercado!
The food is fantastic! This is not just Tex Mex . This is authentic . They are always busy so just expect it. Make sure to check out the murals . They are all over the restaurant . Highly recommended
Fabulous margaritas and great service. We make this a yearly stop... Even if we aren't going to SA. If we're within an hour drive, we pop over for lunch .
Open 24 hours , and located at the old market , this might be the best (at least the most popular) Mexican restaurant in SA. Take home some goodies from the bakery after dinner .
The enchiladas w mole con pollo were just perfection-- stay for deelish coffee & bakery treats too! REALLY OPEN 24hrs this place..! Bravo- muchas!
Despite the shocking assault on the eyes as soon as you step into the restaurant , the waitstaff is awesome and the food does the trick when everywhere else downtown has already closed.
Picked up 3rd load of groceries and pre-cooked meals. Carne Guisada , Puerco en Cascabel and Picadillo are great and come in qt. sizes. Great for stay at home. Worth every penny supporting local biz.
Great place to eat. Staff are friendly and quick. There's always going to be a wait because of the popularity of the restaurant , but I assure you the food and margaritas are well worth the wait.
My number one spot, the best in Mexican food and the fellowship with the worker's is awesome! Well I cannot take my wife to Texas, she wants to have an affair with Elvis........Lol
With San Antonio, 'being a city that can lay claim to being the Tex-Mex capital of the world'; Mi Tierra is 'one of the oldest, biggest, and best Tex-Mex restaurants in San Antonio.'
Open 24 hours and full of deliciousness! Love the soups and traditional Tex-Mex dishes! Don’t forget to stop by the bakery for dessert
Such an exciting and inviting atmosphere! So much to take in when you visit the Market Square, it could absolutely be a weekend trip!!
Festive decorations color the walls of this Mexican restaurant . While the service is great, the food is, arguably, even better! Don't forget to grab a bag of delicious, fresh cookies on the way out!
Cool place to check out the colorful decorations and Mexican market next door. Food in the restaurant was nothing to write home about but the pastries in the bakery were fresh and delicious.
Huge portions , great good and margaritas . Very colorful and noisy atmosphere, ie. "Touristy". Mariachi makes it hard to talk and they charge for songs. Open 24/7. There's a store attached as well
Such a cute , unique restaurant . Rich in history and culture. Their enchiladas are to die for. Salsa’s a tad bit runny, though.
The enchiladas are so scrumptious, hearty, delicious and wholesome. Authentic Mexican food . Great alcoholic drinks and fabulous desserts too.
A bit of a tourist trap, but it's hard to pass up a visit anytime I'm in town . The food, the environment, the bakery , the drinks all make this place a San Antonio staple.
I ordered "Machacado" and it was very tasty with fresh corn tortillas and Mexican potatoes . Excellent staff , more than friendly , they really care about you! Loved this place.
My absolute favorite restaurant in San Antonio! It feels very homey and the food is fantastic. Servers are so nice and the pan dulce is amazing.
The Mexican dinner plate is amazing! I love to add cheese dip for my taco & add a green chicken enchilada ! It's all together a little pricey but totally worth it! :D best food I've ordered in yrs.
At the historic Market Square, this glittery, cavernous Tex-Mex restaurant is the first place locals think of when that 24/7 question arises. Consistently good food, icy margaritas and beer . Read more
Loved it!! Best tres leches I ever had. Campechanas de gava amazing. The bakery is soooo good
The flour tortillas are amazing, I could just come to eat the those and be completely satisfied. Also, best atmosphere I've ever eaten in. Great experience!
Go here!!! Food is sooo good. Awesome atmosphere. Tamales are really good! You must get some goodies at the bakery too. Everything is so good and so cheap !!!
The chicken enchiladas with mole sauce is to die for!! The mole sauce is delicious.. authentic Mexican food !! The wait is always expected but worth it!!
Open 24 hours - Never Closes. Great place for mariachis , cold beer and margaritas ! Try their menudo for a late night/early morning treat.- the breakfast of champions!
The food was very good and the service really amazing! They took care of my coeliac wife like nowhere else!
Delicious! Fast! Went here on a friend's recommendation after my flight from San Antonio to Newark via Dallas/Fort Worth got rerouted through DC and 5.5 hours later. Totally worth it!
I was here at Christmas time ...fabulous atmosphere and music . Lots of lights and religious icons. And, the Michoacan carnitas were very tender and flavorful.
The enchiladas verdes , the tamarindo margaritas , the flautas , etc. I love Mi Tierra. Food is delicious!
If you live or staying in a hotel here downtown of San Antonio and if you're in a mood for some late night Mexican food then come to this location cause there open 24/7
Great place of you're looking for a nice Tex Mex "experience!" Good food, great atmosphere, tons of seating and open 24 hours . Really, what more is there?!?
You need to try el cabrito and the queso fundido with chorizo , and if you have some space for dessert , go for the tres leches .
We hadn’t been here in quite awhile and our four meals at one table just didn’t hit the mark. The bakery did us good though.
Excellent food & dranks, live mariachi , bakery ...1 stop shop.
Mi Tierra opened back in 1941 when Pete and Cruz Cortez started a little café at San Antonio’s Mercado. 70 years later, teams got to taste their authentic Tex-Mex during the race! –Race to the Alamo
San Antonio is the capital of Tex-Mex, and whenever we've got a hankering for that singular style of spicy , cheesy, bighearted cooking we seek out a few classic spots in the city . Read more
Historical Mexican family restaurant with great food!
The lunch special beef enchiladas . $10.25 and the portions are huge and hearty.
Very interesting. Loved the good and very personal employees. I will be back on my next trip.
At this point I don't care about the food. This is a neat place to check out. So far the chips and salsa are better than anything else I've had in SA on this trip.
Anything and EVERYTHING is great here! WOW! Authentic Mexican food and open 24/7! Last time we had an event at the Alamo Dome for Latin Fury 15 - all the fighters and staff ate here after the fights. Read more
The fried ice cream was amazing the staff is super friendly and all the male waitstaff/bar tenders are super good looking - so there's that !
Breakfast , lunch , or Dinner you must go by if you are visiting SA. We go at least once every time we are in town .
Ok, this is a must go for the ambience. The plates are huge. Probably why SA has the fat rap. Gringo and Ol' School Mexican families. Tourist trap, too pricey , but I still love the place. Mariachis !
Great Mexican food and drink for late night visits. It was one of the only things open when I arrived in town .
Makes some of the best food ever and the atmosphere is uniquely awesome. Can sit there for hours with family or friends, possibly even strangers.
If ya get the Steak a la Tamipiqueña, ask for extra roasted salsa for your medium-cooked steak . Trust me.
What can you say? Great food, great atmosphere, great baked goods AND it's ALWAYS Christmas at Mi Tierra!
Enchiladas. Margaritas. Everything looks good. Great wait staff. Happy hour in the bar until 7 Fast service - Jay H
