The only bar in Times Square that doesn't feel like Times Square. Swanky atmosphere and the cocktails are well-crafted (and strong). You might remember this bar from a few scenes in Birdman .
Don't let the location fool you, it does NOT feel like Times Square. Great spot if you're in the area (or need a pre or post theater spot). Solid Manhattan cocktail ! And live music via piano.
I was skeptical going to a bar right in the heart of Times Square. The Rum House dashed those feelings with a strong Rum heavy cocktail menu . Try the Rum Old Fashioned . Other liquors available too
Featured in Birdman -- bar scene where Michael Keaton and Edward Norton drink together! https://nypost.com/2015/02/19/inside-the-bar-where-birdman-filmed-and-keaton-partied-until-7-a-m/amp/
The Rum House features drinks made of rum and they're all perfectly prepared! If you're into mixology this can be your favorite watering hole as you can't go wrong with any of their creative creations
Amazing live music !!! Great classic cocktails as well , and you can customize your booze options. Crowd is a mixed bag of midtown bros and tourists . Good spot but snag a table if you can.
This is the definitive answer to "Where can I actually find a good cocktail in Times Square?” and "Where can I listen to live old time-y music in Times Square without a cover charge ?" Read more
Highly cost-effective cocktails , a piano bar , an amazing jazz band , cool people of New York City . Randomly found, only to find it's probably one of those rare authentic places around. What else?
Great place. Surprisingly good old fashioned atmosphere as for bar near Times Square. All bartenders are real pros. If you nifty for your cocktail taste don’t hesitate to go here
Try to come here on a weekday if you can, or perhaps during the Broadway show times to beat the theatre crowd and enjoy yourself sipping a Mescal Negroni . Read more
Bottom of the Edison Hotel , classic spot by the people of Ward III . The place gets packed with suits (naturally), but behind all that, this is one of the best spots to drink a cocktail in Midtown.
Out near Times Square and looking for a place to have a good drink? This is it. Get something with Rum , natch. Live Piano every night of the week.
Literally the only good thing in Times Square. Legit cocktails , relatively quiet on weekdays, with the occasional live jazz band . Beautiful spot hidden in plain sight.
Swanky , consciously old-timey bar from the folks behind Ward III , with excellent cocktails and a never-predictable crowd.
Small and cute place. Due to its location - it's packed with tourists . The live jazz music (daily from 9:30PM) is great but the volume makes it hard to hold a conversation. Gets busy even mid-week.
Sit at the bar , focus on menu, and have 3 cocktails as you listen to piano man swing the room. After that, seek out Troy for the best drink of your life.
Amazing bar , great variety and quality of cocktails . The performance of the band “mimi and the podd bros” was magnificent. I really recommend it.
Great cocktails ; great live music ! Cosy fit. And they don't mind if you swing dance ????????
old fashioned cocktails & fun live piano music + live lounge singer . A bit of an other-wordly atmosphere you don't quite feel like you're in Manhattan!
We love the super classy and stylish atmosphere almost as much as we love their Dark & Stormy cocktails .
My go to place when I want a good quality cocktail and music without it being too loud .
Get here right when the 8pm theatre shows start to get a table, it is quite full before.
Amazing cocktails and live music . Went on a Saturday and ended up being a good date place too. Highly recommended in Times Square
Great cocktails and live music . It's hard to get a seat, but you have a better chance if you avoid the pre/post Broadway show crowd
Fun live music and great ginger cocktails
Excellent cocktail spot in midtown. Also loved the old time jazz and the old couple dancing amid the random out of towners and midtown office people. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
Properly spicy bloody mary on weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The best in Manhattan! another called the Andrew Jackson, made with white whiskey and smoked paprika , garnished with salami . try it!
They don't serve food, so make sure to eat beforehand. You will likely have more than one drink. Don't be afraid to order off menu . Pick a spirit and have the boys create something magical.
Jazzy and funky sounds in a cult atmosphere that you never expect to find in a touristic location
Great cocktails + table service. Very cozy and perfect for pre/post Broadway show drinks. I saw Bruce Willis here once.
I'm 71, the Escape is the best cocktail , I've had in my entire life!
Yes this is the bar from BIRDMAN ! ???? ...this may also be the best Dark&Stormy I've ever had...like ginger punch. Dangerous.???? ????
Hottest Cocktail : Dark & Stormy - "What sets this drink apart is the fresh ginger muddled in to give a peppery, spicy zing that makes you forget you’re in Times Square." - Damon Gravina, bartender
"Nightly piano playing...classic cocktail lounge swathed in leather banquettes and lit by glowing candles, obfuscating the hustle of Times Square, which is just around the corner." - nymag
Amazing cocktails , live jazz , celebrity clientele. All around an awesome place. Oh, and Birdman was filmed here!
Great drinks and atmosphere. Jazz Quartet on the Saturday night we experienced was fantastic! Go!
Authentic bar in the heart of the Theater District. Stop by for pre-show cocktails .
If ever visiting NY you must stop by the Rum House. The atmosphere is unexpected. The service is exceptional. You won't want to leave.
Live jazz . Relaxed vibe . Not a bad Times Square area option. I only had beer but they seemed to be very focused on classic cocktails . Next time! (3 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
Great vibe. Perfect for cocktail before a show. Happy hour 4-6pm.
Arrive after 11.30pm on Monday nights for insanely good jazz ; and drink the rum old-fashioned for an insanely good drink.
Came here on a Saturday night - place was packed and the band dished out some great latin vibes. Mojito was just ok. For a quick serve, get your drink from the left of the bar and not the right.
Cozy bar in Times Square.
One of the few places near Times Square where it doesn't suck to get a drink, the Rum House was an old-schooler taken over by the team behind Ward III in Tribeca. Read more
It is so great to have such cool bar in Midtown! The bartenders are great guys and very knowledgeable , the cocktails are awesome and the atmosphere is perfect!
Cocktails march on inexorably a la the classics, a few originals, and rum concoctions like Mojitos and Mai Tais made with top shelf booze.
Quality cocktail list . The rum old fashioned is something to write home about.
Found: a not crowded , good cocktail making, good music having, dark wood decorated, piano bar off Time Square. Never Chevy's again while you're waiting for a show!
Great bar you wouldn't think to find in Times Square. Love the atmosphere and the cocktails !
A breath of fresh air in the armpit of midtown. Get the bathroom pass and check out the Art Deco Edison lobby
The space is great, tucked under Chelsea market. A little escape with great cocktails and random books. Snag a table if you can! - Melissa Monsalve
The West 8th cocktail is my favorite. The ambiance is very chill and with the smooth jazz you are sure going to have a delightful evening. The manager is so kind and accommodating. Excellent service - Erika Grijalva
If you want to get in easy, come for lunch. The food is very good pub fare and you can enjoy the signature cocktails. The 3-floor pub setting is charming and you see why this place earns top honors. - Morgan McKee
Always my favourite place to be when I am in NY. Love the dynamic. - Atika Al-Bimani
Out of this world. Great story and totally original production, such a refreshing departure from the classic Broadway play. Just don't bring your kids! - Mike Kowalczyk
Very different, it has a modern take to it. Orlando Bloom was great, a few great shakespearean actors... - The Style Gourmande
