Trajan's Column

Everywhere you turn Rome offers a historic treat. This column has a lot of History and is a lovely to stumble upon, particularly during sunset

One of the sights in Rome that you really need to visit. Built in 113 to celebrate emperor Trajan's victory over the Dacians.

Made in Carrara marble , a carved frieze winds from the bottom to the top, telling the story of Emperor Marcus Aurelius heroically battling barbarians about A.D. 170.

A sight to see. The stairwell that goes to the top isn't open to the public but still worth a visit to this impressive structure

Originally the images wrapping the column were painted. Think of the amazing color and stories they would tell.

There's a staircase inside that leads up to the top of the column! Not open to the public though

Impressive column next to the tomb of the unknown soldier.

It's a must come and see from the inside and outside!!! What a feeling!!!
