One of my favorite spaces in DC. You can bring your own food / drink, and the cafe is really convenient. The large marble slabs are awesome for napping or sprawling while reading
A great air-conditioned and daylit space for hot or lousy weather. Big marble bench/planters you can climb on and tables and chairs. A pricy but good cafe , and a sometimes-on splash fountain .
Rain or shine, this just might be the best lunch spot in the neighborhood . Quiet , air conditioned , Wi-Fi, and "outdoor seating ." Brown bag it or buy something from the cafe .
Absolutely stunning courtyard , with beautiful decor during the winter season , and floor-set water fountains .
Stunning calm and gorgeous! Great place to sit and chill and have a bite.
This place is pretty cool and makes a great lunch spot . Bring some Shake Shack or Shophouse and grab a seat anywhere. Great place to bring visitors.
Great for sitting and relaxing. Good place for catching up with friends .
Best place to have a picnic lunch when it's freezing outside. It can feel just a bit like spring again.
I love this courtyard as a study space ! If your laptop runs out of battery there are a few tables on the 3rd floor and one has outlets.
One of my DC happy places, for sure. Wonderful oasis in any extreme weather!
The apple pie and espresso at illy cafe was awesome.
Definitely check out the Take 5 events during the summer. Great jazz , good people watching , and good vibe.
Although it looks like the place has no power outlets , you can find them under some of the removable panels set into the floor.
Have some desert the lemon tarts are tasty! The courtyard is a great place to meet up with friends or find a quiet place to surf the web on their free WiFi . Read more
This is one of my favorite indoor lunch spots in the city ! Gets crowded quickly, so come early! Bring your own food ... the cafe food is meh and overly priced.
Danger: Don't let your kids run through the fountains . It's slippery. I saw one kid fall backwards and smack his head.
Arts and crafts night! $20 including two free drinks.
You can buy lunch outside and enjoy it in the courtyard .
Atmosphere.
love Sat afternoon here. good for whole family and the cafe is great
Free WiFi is good, but why do they block IMAP and SMTP? E-mail is kind of a basic part of the Internet.
This is my favorite place to sit in DC.
Guards are dicks but nice place don't bring backpack
Check out the talking trash cans... :)
Awesome space with a cool ceiling, great for a quick coffee or work session - Edwina
As I walked around, I just kept thinking about the Hamilton soundtrack! Very cool to see the different variation of portraits. Favorite is still Obama’s vibrant painting. - Ailie Chang
A rich collection of American art. On Tuesday afternoons the library staff hosts a drawing club. - Tani Person
A great place to eat lunch. Lots of people watching, and the fountains make for a very calming and reenergizing lunch break. - Melissa Plummer
Museums are close by and its great because there free of course. When there are events it's somewhat crowded but well worth going. I can't wait to go back - Andrea Moore
Awesome portraits, gorgeous artwork by talented artists. Beautiful and cool looking courtyard too. - Harjit
One of my favorite museums in DC--open until 7, not as many tourists thanks to its location off the Mall, great modern art collection, airy courtyard. - Steven Androphy
Definitely get there early. I like to grab a beer before the snow with my friends. It's a great looking theater with comfy seats and a good location. - Molly Cushing
