Bring your passport for your free ticket . I liked it, spent a couple hours here. If you want to see more, take the underground path to the bottom floor of the Guangzhou Library with exhibits
Obtain your free ticket from 9am to 4pm; avoid the post-10:30am afternoon crowd. Get the audio guide, (15rmb for Chinese, 30rmb for English). Budget 1-4 hours, depending on your level of interest...
Great museum , lots of nice exhibitions , descriptions in both Chinese and English.
Get free lighters here ! Lighters are forbidden and thus confiscated at the entrance. If you need a lighter (or more than one), take some at the exit.
The security at the entrance will ask you a question: da huo ji you ma? So don't bring one!

The only positive thing I can say about this is the free wifi inside. And the Guangdong culture and history hall is worth going if you're interested. Others halls are not worth it. PEOPLE EVERYWHERE!!

I don't understand why they can't do a better job, the most unpleasant museum experience ever. People are running around like mad dogs, touching, pounding display glass, kids at peeing on the ground .
