Check out the East half of the park for a great view of the Painted Ladies/downtown & the West half for a beautiful sunset ! Then go back to the other side for a beautiful view of downtown at night!
You really can't beat the views of the city . Famous for the iconic opening shots in Full House, the park is perfect for hanging with friends and soaking up some sun. It's a dog lover's paradise.
After seeing the Harvey milk plaza , head down (up) to almo square. You can relax, eat and look at the beautiful ladies but also look at the view !
We get it, you want the Full House picture. Keep in mind the locals have probably had to take that pic 43 times before.. Be quick about it :) Before you cop a squat on the grass, check for dog poo.
This is a great part for two reasons. First off, it is very dog friendly with an off leash area (not fenced in though). Secondly, it has some of the best SF skyline views that you can find.

Classic. Its a tourist spot. But as a Native, I still frequent. The views are amazing.
When the tourists ask you to snap their photo, make sure to tell them that Bob Saget lives in the Painted Lady on the left. Keep a straight face.
Walk up the hill in the park across the street for the best angle of both the houses and the skyline.

You can see the top of the Golden Gate Bridge on a clear day looking NW from the circular path at the center of the park .
Pop a beer , let your dog off the leash , play catch and enjoy the sunlight (while it lasts).

I got married here, but it's also a good place for your dog to take a crap.
The legendary shoe garden that was located around the restrooms has been permanently removed by the city of San Francisco because the shoes were non-biodegradable and hazardous to the environment :(

Painted ladies and breathtaking view of Russian Hill / Downtown from the east side. Another beautiful view and dog park of the west - more fog though.

My favorite spot in the city . It's like a hiding trail if you start climbing from Hayes Valley.
