The museum seems a little upside down to me because I prefer Native art to a bunch of paintings of the West by dead white guys. In other words, don't miss the stuff upstairs!
Great Native American related exhibits . Something here for all ages. Highly recommend the tour if it's your first time visiting. Plenty to see here so don't expect to see it all in one visit.
Lots of native American art and culture on display. The interactive stuff for kids on the lower level looks really fun. Worth spending an hour or two there, then visit one of the adjacent museums .
This museum is perfect for families since the museum is smaller than most, it will be easy to view all the exhibits in one, quick trip. Also, there's free parking for guests!

Incredibly excited that a museum like this exists. This is an awesome way to learn about cultures from this area.
Jingle Rails was amazing! The museum as a whole was fascinating and eye-opening
If you do a tour and have younger aged children, ask for a tour guide that is used to that age group. Our tour guide got frustrated with our group and cut tour short .
Featured as one of the world's finest Native American and Western Art collections by True West. Perfect for a day trip!
The Indian galleries are a great mix of historical artifacts and contemporary art (including the polar bear !).
A part of the museum grounds just off the Canal n a great place to contemplate the future or eat ur lunch !
A true gem in Indy- great art and moving exhibits in the heart of downtown. And the Sky City Cafe overlooking the Canal - SO. GOOD.
Visit the excellent family activity area on the lower level. Sitting in the stage coach is worth the price of admission.
Here you can see work by famous artists , try family or hands on activities and stop into their restaurant . There's also American Indian and Western artifacts . Read more
The Ansel Adams exhibit is gorgeous and should definitely be seen before it closes in August 2014.
The museum opened in & is the only museum in the Midwest that offers extensive collections of both Native American and American western art .
Great kids area on the lower level! Walk in off the canal and view the only American Indian and western art museum west of the Appalachians and east on the Mississippi!
Well worth a trip, the galleries in the lower level are amazing.
Use your Louisville City Saver coupons here to receive a free admission when a second admission is also purchased.'
