For once, a Conquistador is a very good thing. Cocktails do take their time coming from the bar to the restaurant , though, so place your next drink order before you've finished your last libation.

Love the grilled octopus & cocktails . ("Flaca" with st. George Botanivore gin , lemongrass tonic, + poma aurea hard cider AND the "Sutter Smash" with four roses bourbon , cynar, apricot , mint , + lemon )

SFGate

While the view is great, the focus remains on the bar and open kitchen . The menu covers tapas , open-face sandwiches and family-style shared plates. Most dishes are strong, the paella is a must try. Read more

Mojito with grey salt “Air” and Sun Never Sets are incredible drinks! Try all of the skewer bites and the croquettes and smoked salmon toast ; skip the dessert and go to Humphrey Slocombe instead

Taylor Lee

I love a good grilled Octopus and Coqueta has one of the best in the city . Also try their Pluma (grilled pork ) - it is so tender and sweet. Drizzle their honey chili glaze on top for the perfect bite.

Chris Messina

Barman Joe Cleveland may take the prize for most ambitious cocktail menu : G&T's, sherry drinks, porrones, tipples, molecular-gastronomy creations like liquid-nitrogen sangria and frozen gin meringue !

SFist

The bar is mostly first-come, first-serve, with some stools and a counter. Go for one of the Spanish-style gin and tonics , flavored with fruits and botanicals, or a nice glass of sangria on tap . Read more

Some of the best Sangria I have ever had (and I try Sangria at every Tapas restaurant I go to) and the Patatas Bravas were excellent, if a little non-traditional.

Ms Helene

Salmon crostata with truffle oil , grilled octopus and kale salad . Skip patatas bravas and cheesecake bite . Bar seating .

Sara C

totally worth staking out the bar area in the sun room for a spot at the long table to enjoy their delicious cocktails and tapas !

Priya Saiprasad

Make sure to snag a reso weeks in advance! The Arroz Cromosa, the Croquetas and the Sunny Side Up Egg were all to die for. Pair them with a perfectly crafted signature cocktail and you're golden.

tt tu

Such a cute spot, right by the water. The cocktails are amazing and the tapas - superb! Get a Galleon and a side of patatas bravas and you're set. Those shrimp are great too

Beerblondie Victoria Olson

Snagged a seat at the bar ! Sunny side up egg with shrimp is a must! Also, whole calamari , crispy shrimp and chickpea pancake and patatas bravado are divine! Drinks are off the hook!

@MaxJCrowley

Place is awesome. We crushed sangria pitchers . Get the salmon open face sandwich , deviled eggs , and cheesecake bites for dessert .

Daniel Boulud

Chef Michael Chiarello serves some of the best Spanish tapas in the country . I especially enjoy the house cured meats and any of their pintxos with a chilled beer from Barcelona.

Rebecca Maldonado

Interesting take on spanish tapas . It's very trendy ! Their manchego cheesecake bites was delicious!

Danielle Nicole

Try as many things as you can. Blue cheese ice cream with apply pie / tart , the Bronzino , the peppers with shredded jambon, Marchegiano/jambon/apricot preserves, beet skewers ... All amazing.

Brandon Cain

Small and overlooked hidden tapas restaurant with style. Excellent food and call ahead for seating, gets busy dinner

Brad T

Menu changes often but cured meats are evergreen and delicious. Drinks are fun and inventive. Feel free to have fun with it all!

Michæl Brett

Was here for lunch and tried a mixture of the hot tapas . Wasn't mad about the "sunny side up". The duck & pork meatballs were good and the Brussels sprouts were amazing

Ben Tepfer

Surprising number of vegetarian options . Very accommodating. Good paella . For meat eaters, octopus is fantastic.

Kirke Curtis

If you're not going to the restaurant for dinner , try hard to get a seat at the bar ! The bartenders are great fun and constantly whipping up drinks with the most amazing presentations! (Smoke, fog)

RYan COsta

Literally everything is amazing. Wood grilled octopus , sea urchin and iberico lardon, sunny side up egg with shrimp , and the olive poached head on gulf prawns . Can't go wrong with anything.

Chris Messina

The secret of the Sutter Smash is the cinnamon dusting, which adds a bit of intrigue to an otherwise conventional bourbon cocktail .

Gnat Brain

You cannot go wrong with the sunny side huevos (w grilled shrimp , fried potatoes and topped w a chorizo sauce). So popular it usually stays in the rotation. .

Janice

Its spanish gin tonic is delicious! PS if you get a rose into your drink, probably is because you like to the bartender or waiter ;)

Chris H.

Everything was great, but do not leave without ordering the Pluma (acorn-fed pork shoulder loin). It's some of the best pork I've ever tasted.

Jennifer Park

Can't go wrong with the food here. My favorite item on the menu is the Barça gin and tonic . Best G&T. Ever.

Garry Tan

Hey a great way to eat in Spain without getting on a plane . The gin drinks are ace. Also don’t forget to get the brave potatoes and pulpo .

Caitlin

Ryan-Patrick was our waiter and he was first rate!! The tapas are amazing and we LOVED the specialty cocktails . It's a must return type of place!

Kevin Wolkober

The Croquetas de Pollo and Sunny Side-up Huevo are delicious. The Bikini is outstanding and must order, even if you don’t like eggplant .

Bre Lambert

Prepare to battle the friendly chaos in the closed-in patio if you don't have a reservation . Fried shrimp is to die for. Stick to the cocktails for one-of-a-kind flavor combinations.

Melon L

Gin cocktails are amazing. Can't go wrong with any of them though my favorite is the barca.

Vivian Ramirez

Cute place for a glass of wine and the croquettes were awesome. Gets really crowded at times so not reliable especially for a date.

Lina Ov

Lowel is the best waiter ever!!!!! He'll treat you so well !!! We let him choose our courses and drinks and his picks are just amazing!!!!!

Alex Mann

One of the few nice tapas places in SF. Apparently famous for it gun and tonics although I didn't notice anything particularly special about them! ????????

Sabina Del Rosso

Gin cocktails are great and you can't go wrong with the meat and cheese board !

Max K

The pluma is the most amazing pork I've ever had. Acorn fed pork shoulder with honey chili glaze. It looked and tasted like steak .

Chloe Michelle

Absolutely superb! Friendly and helpful staff all around. Definitely recommend the potatoes bravos, lamb/duck meatballs , paella , and churros to finish.

Chris Messina

The Castro is enjoyable: sweet, flavorful, and with a sharp bite from the chile! ????

Jack Krawczyk

The paella is worth the hype. Perfectly done. Pan de chocolat is a great sweet bite to finish.

Olivier Derrien

Very good atmosphère - gaucho and patatas bravas were delicious among a lot of other food - nice service - we will come back

Jeannie

The Oracle cocktail , in honor of the America's Cup. Tip: "it is safe to sail when the fog lifts". Delicious and so pretty!

Elizabeth Burstein

Great vibe and nice cheese plates . The pineapple cocktail win the mezcal and marshmallow-y top was way too sweet though

Karina N

Pork shoulder with honey chilly sauce ; grilled octopus ; paella (40min); fried sunny side up and chorizo !!

Paige C

Loved the paella ! Their appetizers were delicious too.

Silvia Aki

They're very busy but food is delicious. The kale salad and the pollo croqueta are great.

Shirley Liu

Awesome tapas !! Def get the croquetas , albondigas, patatas bravas ... Next time I'll be trying the paella as well !

Monti Bray

Their signature cocktail is worth the hype, but make sure to minimize the tonic in your drink.

Megan Allison

Just get the Barça gin & tonic . It's the prettiest and best.
