Delicious scrumptious Peruvian food with a decent view of the pier . Had the quinoa bowl and added chicken , absolutely delicious. Only unfortunate thing is the view is covered by ferries
The ceviche tasting was excellent! The empanada sampler completed the perfect weekend lunch on the outdoor patio . Try the mango picoso, a little bit of heat contrasts mango nicely.
As good as the Lima original! Excellent ceviches , tiraditos but also meat dishes. Not to mention cocktails , pisco sour amongst many others!
I love going for a bite at the bar . Aom, the bar manager, is a great host. Always makes me feel welcomed... Always smiling! ❤️ Great Peruvian choice.
There are many wonderful choices on La Mar’s brunch menu , which augments its Peruvian cuisine with Spanish, Japanese, & Italian influences. Still, starting your brunch with cocktails is a no-brainer. Read more
All three of the ceviche we tried were excellent. One of the few places I’ve found in SF with great Pisco Sours .
Great “cebiches ” and other raw dishes. And expansive menu of Peruvian seafood and meat dishes. Gorgeous waterfront location. Great for dinner maybe better for lunch . Great Mother’s Day spread.
HH: Daily 3-6pm; Select $6 cocktails , including Pisco Sour , Pisco Punch, Old Fashioned, and Blue Mule+ staples, like Cebiche Classico ($9), Taco Chifero ($9), empanada ($6), and quinoa burger ($6).
Went here for a happy hour and they had a great spirit selection, but the Peruvian style crudo going around was really the winner. Excellent excellent prep and fresh fish
The tiradito nikkei is fantastic! My husband and I could eat it all night long! The choco-maracuyo is aMAZing! The chocolate balances out the tartness of the passion fruit .
Our office Christmas party here and enjoyed their fresh, beautiful food of a incredible high standard. Service came on a little strong with the up-selling however.
Great place, awesome food and good ambience. Didn't enjoy the cocktails so much but great food very much makes up for it. Quinoa Chaufa was one of the best quinoa dishes I have had.
The service here was really good, and the food here was quite delicious, I had the calamari , the ceviche , and the Rice paper drink. It was really pricey , but the proportioning was quite fair .
This restaurant is perfect! Cuisine, service, spacious interior ... And their new option of food pre-ordering and table booking via the Allset app is great – you are served at once, no wait!
Everything we tasted was absolutely delicious! Especially enjoyed the salmon , arroz la mar, and tres leches . Lived up to the hype.
Cebiche is phenomenal. Large sashimi-like pieces. Pisco sour is quite a tasty cocktail . Plancha de mariscos has excellent smoky char to it.
Perfect service, delicious food! I wrote a small note to my reservation. They brought surprise dessert with a candle for my husbnds birthday. They made us very happier after eating very delicious food.
Original Ceviche , Dungeness Crab on Purple Potato , and Lomo (grilled tenderloin) were all excellent!!! Get a table outside by the water. Will not disappoint!!!
Ceviche is from Peru, and it’s delicious. Drowned in citrus , raw seafood is combined with other fresh ingredients . There is a fun bar on the Embarcadero side, if you want to just sip some wine .
Go for happy hour for half off pisco cocktails . It's a cebicheria, so duh, get the ceviche ! There's a sampler platter of 4 different ceviches if you have a hard time deciding.
It's Dine About week in San Francisco and we decided to try La Mar. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we can't have ceviche today :( We did try the amazing empanadas and veggie options . Delicious!
This place is OMG! Best ceviche I've ever had in my life. many agree. Just opened one in NY. Havent been to yet but the one is San Fran is amazing! Try ceviche sampler and passion fruit cocktail !
Without a doubt one of the best restaurants SF has to offer! Service was attentive, views are gorgeous and ceviches are to die for! I'm salivating at the mere thought!
Ceviche is delicious (big fat chunks of fish , different flavors like sweet potato & corn nuts .) Prickly pear Margarita was really good but for $13 it was awfully a small glass.
Drinks, ceviche mixto , and jaleita are ????. Come during happy hour (3-6) for some of the best deals in SF.
Great patio , amazing food and we even got a free order of ceviche . You must order the "buñuelos de chocolate " for desert (orange glazed chocolate beignets with banana and passion fruit ice cream ). Read more
Everything is delicious down to the plantain chips they bring to every table (heads up that they charge for this at happy hour though)
Ask for pisco sour size cathedral ! Portions are not as generous as in Chile but service is excellent and anticuchos are great
Ceviche mixto is all you need ???? try the ceviche tasting and get a draft beer , or 2. Happy hour only available in the bar

Nice vibe, good service but food is okay.. tried the Laqueado ceviche . The La Mar in Mexico City and Santiago are far better.
Try the "Nikei ," with tuna , Japanese cucumber , daikon , nori , & tamarind , or even the "classic," which is marinated in a "tiger's milk " of ridiculously hot peppers . Read more
Ceviche clásico and Lomo Saltado are a must!! Don’t forget to try the pisco sour , ir is delicious!!
Went their during the SF restaurant week. Love the open kitchen design and the view of the bay . Food was amazing as well .
Participating in the Restaurant Week... totally worth it!!! Drink CHICHA MORADA is delicious ans traditional from Peru
The cebiche was great, but the empanadas there were the most memorable part, best I've ever had.
Upscale peruvian restaurant . Don't know much about peru food. So i can only say place look pretty fancy , perfect for date
The wifi password is Lamar100 so you don't have to ask. The blue sapphire martini hit the spot.
If you're a tourist or a local, La Mar is always a terrific experience. Save room for the pastry chef 's creations.
La Mar is a big restaurant with a big menu. This is Peruvian food—a cuisine influenced by the whole world and jacked up with heat and—filtered through Chef Gaston Acurio’s European training .
Amazing seafood and exquisite deserts . Try a cocktail in the bar before dinner too!
Try the corazon skewers ... It's scrumptious... ☺️
Good happy hour . Can get crowded . Great food
Arroz la mar and mixto skewers absolutely delicious. A bit expensive ,but what the hell we're on vacation.
Try the Causas Tasting - I ordered these when I saw a plate sitting on the counter, and they were SO CUTE !!! Tuna on spicy whipped potato was my favorite =D
Love their happy hour ... And all their hours actually!
Peruvian food by the bay . Can't go wrong really. Quite authentic even though not exactly the same as its original brother in Lima.
Love the ceviche at La Mar. Always perfect!! I could eat here everyday.
Really enjoyed the Miami guns cocktail. Really nice tiki-like drink. - Brendan Curran
Awesome (if a little pricy) market inside, and ferry rides out the back. Worth going on Saturday for the farmer's market. - Dana
Great space, lots of interesting nature and science experiments, widgets, maps, etc; nice view of the bay - Farshid Ketabchi
Try their Cappuccino to have in Much better than the takeaway version and perfect temperature! Best coffee in town. - Priya Briggs
