Shanghai Tunnel

If you've never researched Shanghai Tunnels in Portland, you should. Makes this place fifty times more appealing! Great atmos, food, and crowd! A must for visitors.

Sort of hidden away but the basement bar is solid. Drinks are strong, cheap and the noodle bowls kill!

Ridiculously good food and cocktails . Have Mark serve you and you'll be set for a night of awesomeness. This is a cool joint. And they serve the 44°!

Very dark underground bar , very cool. Has a pool table ! Fairly good prices.

Still a decent dive, sorta-surprising date destination, too, but with a chill vibe.

Fellow vegans ! The curry and general noodle bowls are vegan and they are delicious. The other two sauces are not vegan .

I think the bartender forgot the whiskey in my whiskey sour , but I'd still come back for the atmosphere.

Go downstairs, enjoy the drinks, laugh with the bartenders , dig on the noodle bowls , but avoid the batter, I mean, "fish " and chips ....

The Kimchi rice was a bit mushy. Jasmine rice seemed to disintegrate when they fried it.

Go to Shanghai Tunnel & order a "Bonzai Shot" w/ some friends. Last one to finish drinks another. Consists of PBR & a shot of spiced rum dropped in. Tastes better than it sounds!

Just like the rest of the bars in the city , there isn't any table service. Don't expect it and don't get pissed when nobody's coming to ask you what you want. Grow up.

if you want to eat late, make sure to not wait for waiter/waitress, go to the bar !
