FREE on FIRST TUES of EVERY MONTH after 2PM. Enjoyed it the 3rd time I was here. They have MORE JELLYFISHES, my favorite things to see along with the silly monkeys!
Really nice zoo . Big enough to have lots to see, but small enough you can see it all!! The Giraffe exhibit is wonderful. Wonderful way to spend a day!
If you expect to see a lot of animals during Zoo lights, don't bother. The reptile house is open, and you can see the giraffes sleeping. There are however a lot of trees with Christmas lights on them.
The Houston Zoo is one of the must visit locations for wild life. Cleverly built in the heart of Houston and near to Hermann Park , it features gorgeous natural scenes, tropical birds n butterflies.
The Houston Zoo is serious about wildlife preservation and happiness, and it shows in each of their enclosures . The giraffe and gorilla sections are my absolute faves.
With all the new renovations to the elephant exhibit and the previous renovation to gorilla exhibit , the Houston Zoo has only gotten better. If you plan on going, make sure you are there early.
Incredible zoo , possibly among the best I've been to (I love zoos ). Feast with the Beasts is a ton of fun.
I'm 23 and i really enjoyed this place, imagine if you are a kid or if you spend time with your family; in my opinion you can miss the dinosaur pavilion,if you're with children you have to take them.
We loved it here although there were construction sites here and there... Baby loved the Aquarium crawler tunnel and the Waterpark. Didn’t like the petting zoo .
This is a perfect attraction for family members. They also offer a summer camp for children up to 6th grade I believe to get acquainted with the zoo and become comfortable with the animals.
Amazing how the zoo has improved for the better over the years! Definitely visit the zoo when they offer later hours at night especially Zoo lights! The animals are more active then!
Feeding the giraffes was the most amazing thing I have ever done! The zoo keepers were very informative, and so nice. The new elephant area was incredible!
Membership pays for itself quickly if you're a family of at least three and your kid(s) likes to be outdoors. The children's zoo part is great for younger kids: covered playground & splash pad!
The Houston Zoo is serious about wildlife preservation and happiness, and it shows in each of their enclosures . The giraffe and gorilla sections are my absolute faves.
Nice place to take the kids for a day trip in Houston. It didn't seem to have a wide variety of animals like other zoos I've been to, but it was a nice facility overall
Excellent zoo for kids and grown-ups alike. My child can't stop talking about the giraffe feeding experience. Definitely worth a visit.
The zoo is amazing and surrounded by tons of other fun things to do. You can spend all day in the Hermann Park area for sure!
The Africa exhibit is pretty awesome. at the end of it you can feed the giraffes for $5 for 3 big pieces of lettuce at 11am and 2 pm the lightest colored giraffe is pregnant I have her all mine lol
Houston zoo is a place 2 expand your curiosity w/ many different animals. And plus they have a souvenir store so youll remember it if unever get thechance to come back so have fun and enjoy your trip
Came here for the Christmas lights show. They did a really amazing job with all of the animatronic animals and lights displays. Highly recommend.
The birds house is awesome and food is good , the snakes ,sea animals and the monkeys house are beautiful and large for viewing . This Zoo is going big time. ( Facebook.com/ Milton.Prejean).

Great opportunity to get close to the animals with many enclosures having multiple viewing spots. Elephant feeding was great.
They are currently showing Lego animals that almost look real. Only downside was the African Safari won't be finished till 2015 but still a great place to go and check out the animals.
The Twiga Terrace restaurant in the back between the African Forest and the giraffes sells beer . And you can sit outside and get drunk with a giraffe .
One of the best in the country and the lights at Christmas are spectacular.
Once the weather becomes cooler, Weekdays around noon, is the best time to come, not a lot of people and the animals are out.

Very clean and really enjoyable when it's crisp outside but not cold
Loads of animals and great opportunities to take pictures. It is extremely hot. Be sure to keep hydrated and stop by the buildings with air conditioning .
If you don't really care for animals, it's like Disneyland, except without the rides and the fun.
The zoo is just 2 blks from my house - Friday's are a mad house in the spring with all the students on field trips but mid week is the perfect time to walk the zoo at your leisure with your honey or k
