Make sure you get there with time to spare. 2 drink + $12 min spend per person -- totally worth it! Pick the late night show for greater chance of known comics showing up. Amazing experience!!

Lauren T.

Best comedy club in NYC. Every time I've gone a big name shows up to surprise the crowd with a set (like Louis CK , Damon Wayans &Colin Quinn). Always a fun time.

Iz O

Try be discreet when taking photos, otherwise the comedian will see you&start talking to you, a la Colin Quinn in this pic ????

Simon Kratzer

Very entertaining show, a must go. Minimum two food or drink items per person.

Ryan

Came here with a group and had a great time. Reservation process was easy and sat right next to the stage. Just do it a few days before.

Berk Kapicioglu

A cozy basement which happens to substitute as the best comedy club in the city . For $12 and two items, you get to see the some of the best comedians in New York. A village gem.

Marie La Rue

Iconic comedy club . Buy tickets in advance as it is immensely popular. Discover established and up and coming talk, with some star studded appearances if you’re lucky. Great value . No phone policy.

Maria Marques

Famous from Louie, Comedian, & stories told about this legendary room. Booker Estee Adoram. Drop-ins Chris Rock ,Dave Chappelle,Lou CK, NY’s best comics .Not for the sensitive. Classic NY comedy exprnc

funky flavor

Always crazy and lively , and watch out cause you never know what famous comedian may pop in for an impromptu stand up presentation. Seen lots of celebs pop in and perform as well as hosting the night.

Josef

Great for a night out with friends. They usually have a decent line up. You'll be kicked out after the show is done for the next group (all business), there are many places around one can get a drink.

Aryan J

Check the website after 5pm on the day of the show to try and get free cover. If not, make reservations at the Olive Tree Cafe next door. There's a two drink minimum but this place is worth it.

Brian Strauss

I love that you can make a spontaneous decision to come here, hang out in the standby line , and most likely get in and end up seeing great comedy and often unannounced special guests.

Nathan Wright

The Comedy Cellar is an absolute must-do NYC comedy experience. Big names will often show up to close the show. They pack the customers in tight. Buy your tix ahead of time online.

Elyse Estrada

This place never disappoints. But for ultimate fun, go to the 12:15am show. All the comics and the audience are drunk so it's extra enjoyable. Make a reservation online.

Ramona Armitage

We had great fun and the majority of the acts were great. I’d recommend going to one of the earlier shows as on our 11.30pm show a couple of the comedians literally said they couldn’t be bothered

New York Habitat

If you've never been to a comedy club , make sure you come here for your first time. Great talent in a fun and interactive environment. Big name comics often do sets on any given night too!

Dave Chait

Definitely a must visit if you are a comedy fan. You never know who is going to drop in and do a set. Just please dont be a douchebag and be disrespectful and talk while a performer is on.

Emily Gimbert

Amazing best night! Highly recommend. Adam Devine from workaholics did a surprise stand up along with Dave Attell & Jeff Ross. So worth the money, must do here!

Louis Matta

A comedy club staple of NYC. The intimate atmosphere and possibility of any comic legend stepping up to the mic makes it a must visit for comedy fans.

Jeff Weinstein

Worth it. Book online very early or call and ask when exactly to show up get on the waitlist in person. You can get in, just have to right on time.

Darren Lachtman

On the weekends, you can show up when the show before the one you want to see starts and put name on standby list. No need for the line , put name in, go drink and come back at showtime.Weekends only.

Hanna Grace

Unless you're ok with getting roasted, say no when they as you if it's ok to be put in the front row! If you're cool with that then go for it! Best seats in the house! 2 drink minimum PP.

Vinaya Vishwanath

Monday nights are the best nights! Aziz Ansari was a surprise guest when we went on a Monday night!!

DHR.com

This Manhattan comedy club is one of the best and most popular in NYC, showcasing some of the most hilarious acts like Louis C.K., Darrell Hammond, and Colin Quinn. Don’t miss the Olive Tree Café .

Fernando Takai

Amazing place. Just remember to turn off your cellphones when inside :)The beers are cold, the food is hot and the comedy is incredible.

Tom DiMaggio

Consistently has the best talent on a nightly basis. I recommend coming in on weeknights for better chances at seats, there's never a bad show.

Emily Kane

Don't assume you're gonna just waltz in, make reservations ahead of time! Full lineups are posted on their website every Thursday.

Lori Michelle

the best comedy club in New York City , also a great eatery next-door, the Olive Tree Cafe , very veg and vegan friendly . Some comedy greats I've met & gone back-n-forth with: Dave Attell & Colin Quinn

Harry Raymond

The best comedy club in the world. Reserve your tickets online and get there half hour early so you get good seats.

Laura Jones

Incredible comedians. Laughed for 2 hours straight at 11:30pm show. Sad to have missed Aziz Ansari who made an appearance 3 consecutive days before! 2 x cocktails + cover charge works out quite $$$

Selina Ang

Even without a reservation on a Friday night, you can get in by putting your name on the standby list 1 hour before the show starts. There's bound to be no-shows.

TenantKing.com

If you're looking for a fun night out, this is the place to go. The nights are never dull here with all the talented comedians that walk in through their doors.

Lizzie Hatfield

Very intimate , not a bad seat in the place. You see a good amount of comedians during one show so sure to see someone you like. Very funny.

John G

One of the best comedy shows in New York if not the world!

DoubleDeuce

In prefer the late night Nasty Show. Hit and miss but edgier. Also, go during the week if you want the random famous person (like Louis CK or Chris Rock ) to try their material.

K

Sometimes you can see pretty big name comedians hanging out here-like Chris Rock or Dave Attell.

Joe Prunty

Some of the best comedy shows ever. Big names, up and coming names. You name it! Historic venue!

Dr. Ploinky

Always a great time and great comics drop in unannounced to try out new material often. Alcohol is very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Andrew Krepow

Great atmosphere, low ceilings make it an awesome experience. Goes without saying, but there's always an awesome line-up of hilarious comics .

Itamar Hauser

People say it's the best comedy place in New York. I don't know if it's the best but it's very very good

Sean McCarthy

All of the food here is good, from The Olive Tree upstairs (same establishment). I've never tried the goulash , but everyone has ordered the wings.

Jacob Gyllenstierna

If you don't have a reservation , show up half an hour before the show to add your name to the stand-by list.

Stephanie Rivkin

One of the best New York City nighttime activities. Reserve ahead of time. Catch the late show if you cab.

Sharon P.

This is the place that puts all other comedy clubs to shame. If you didn't get tickets, show up about 1.5 hrs before showtime to get on the standby list.

Brian L

We saw four comedians we'd never heard of, on a Monday, and it was STILL hilarious.

Jeanne Cho

If you go every once in awhile on a weekday, you are bound to see a surprise celeb, like I saw Chris Rock last night!!

RDW

who's ready to laugh ? ...definitely make a reservation in advance for quick easy entry, nobody likes lines , and tweet at the comics and cellar, they are always responsive Read more

Enid Atwater

For $24 per person - this place is a steal. We has so much fun. Get there early to get a good seat.

Andrew Litvak

Awesome, intimate comedy spot. And you never know which celeb comic will make an appearance!
