Though just a round brick walkway and a few benches , Christopher Park is beloved because of of the its Gay Liberation Monument , which honors the LGBT rights movement and the spirit of free expression.
George Segal 's statue was too controversial for Christopher Park's neighbors in the 1980s. It found a home at Stanford University , where it still stands. A replica was finally installed here in 1992.
