This pub has arguably the best atmosphere in Melbourne..candlelit , a touch vintage, a touch gothic...lots of local original songsmiths playing. Very Melbourne!

One of the best venues in Northcote for excellent food and local gigs. The band room has great acoustics , and is intimate and cosy.

Make Wednesday nights in the band room a regular outing. It's called "Simply Acoustic". It's free. But it goes really well with a few beers .

The rustic platter and ale just make sure you get an extra bread for a couple bucks, worth it

Find a table inside as soon as you get here-away from back & front doors if possible. THEN brave the bar . 2 for 1 special Monday nights is well worth it!

The cotechino is probably one of the best things I've eaten since being in Australia.

They've got Estrella Damm which is to Spain what Crown Lager is to Australia. Not a very good beer at all but if you want to cross that off your list, you can find it here. Personally, I'd go with Tig

Very distracted staff , as others have noted. The mussels are to die for and great for sharing, oddly enough!

Would tend to agree, venue and general feel is great... Staff seem somewhere distant, orders are met by blank stares and muttered language... weird!!!
