I don't know what exactly this place is, but it's one of my most favorite places in the world. A giant, three-story tall tree , taxidermy everywhere, cafeteria food (with jello) and a club.
The lunch buffet has so much variety there is something for everyone. Grab a salad , some meat from the Carvery or a sandwich perhaps. Great for friends who are indecisive about their food choices.
You haven't been to a place quite like this. So fun. Make time to wander around. The food is actually great too. Secret tip: Wear some decent clothes and push on the mirror.
Super impressed with this funky place. While the drink prices are a little on the high side, this place is awesome. Literally one of the coolest places I've been with multiple bars , floors, and vibes.
Awesome atmosphere and good music (think jazz , soul and Motown). Tons of space. Food is great, big portions . Awesome place for a night out! Small food counter in front stays open til 2am ????????
Being here is like being transported to another time and place. The decor inside is amazing and feels so cool for hanging out and drinking. I didn’t try any of the food but will next time!
There might be a time machine at the front doors, because you’re taken to comfort food heaven that just doesn’t exist any place else. Highly recommended.
Old country feeling when you walk in the door. The set up of their cafeteria will give you nostalgia from the past. It was so quiet and relaxing. I like their food as well . It tastes really good.
The sidewalk terrazzo in front of Clifton's Cafeteria on Broadway dates back to the thirties and includes representations of SoCal landmarks including City Hall , the Coliseum, and the Tar Pits. Read more
Great selection of coctails . There is one guy that has moves like M.Jackson-he made my night so much better????????????????????????
Looking to dine in a more enchanted eatery ? Clifton's Cafeteria has you covered. Centered around a three-story tall tree in the middle of the space, there's plenty to explore during your meal. Read more
My colleagues and I went with to this cafeteria yesterday morning and eat delicious foods. At first, the waiter asked properly on what we should order. He was respectful and kind to us.
Recently restored piece of Los Angeles history. A forest wonderland/cafeteria in the thick of downtown LA. The food is OK, but there are themed bars on every floor. Go to explore and to marvel.
The food is amazing. The bars are top notch. The decor is fun and inviting. The staff are well-trained and professional.
Clifton's is known for its cafeteria-style food and quirky decor, but don't forget that they've got a bakery for to-go pies and pastries .
Super fun place to come and hang out. Bakery on first level. Bar on the second level and swing dancing on the third.
spunky, fun, and eclectic , this is everything perfect about downtown, rolled into one monster building. turkey plates are BOMB.
Probably the most bonkers bar I've been to in the US. Part Disneyland attraction ; part speakeasy ; part grandma's house; part...
Don't miss the museum on the third floor. Also, be sure to check out the chapel and push the button inside to hear Clifton's founder Clifford Clinton read a parable about redwood trees to you. Read more
Same ol' cafeteria but several bars to hang out at now with a #happyhour AND a secret #tikibar
The vibe was really cool and the fact that it was spacious and looked different from other bars you normally see is why I liked Clifton's Cafeteria .
Super weird but fun place--check out all the levels. Plenty of seating, couches and tables for groups!
It's the greatest place you will never want to go back to. But hey... At least you can say you went.
So much fun. Food is good, not great, but a good value for the money. The bars are very nice too
Best Banquet Hall, August 2011 - There’s no rental fee, just the cost of the food, which follows the old-school model: hand-carved roast beef , velvety mac and cheese . Read more
Awesome place tucked away in Downtown ❤️
OMG...so Old School....been going here since I was a kid in platforms ..heehee! Great place to take the fam for a mini history lesson.
Cool vibe going on at the newly Remodeled Clifton's! But just remember, it's Cafeteria food . ????
The Mac and cheese was exactly as I remembered. Very interesting place.
This is a great place to go and enjoy the past.
the food taste good... the staff is friendly ...welcome back... the only thing is that when you reach the table to eat ur food on the second or third floor your food is cold...
Horrendous food, but really cool place with friendly staff .
Outstanding. Fantastic place.

Just one word: WTH
Re opening sometime this year!
Great retro ambience solid cafeteria comfort fare
Atmosphere!
The venue is interesting, location is sketchy .
When the crazy old lady with the fake fur coat and runny eye liner offers you a seat, don't be afraid to run.
Go to Cliftons for a 1940's kitch time-warp and classic to-die-for cafeteria faire . Your oasis if you work downtown.
Decent cocktails
Good things: beautiful bar with fun themed items. Bad things: reservation system, lack of a menu, lack of creative tiki cocktails, uneven service. - Rachel K
Great music and decor (stuffed animals in real size - literally a tree in the middle of the dancefloor!?) definitely worth checking out - Arash Narchi
The food is wonderful and I really loved the place. Great addition to our neighborhood. - Natalia
Delicious clam chowder and mousse for dessert! Very nice socially distant outside dining. - Donald
Soooo good. Pork belly salad is special. Get a cocktail. Their margarita is better than most. Service is impeccable. They let me bring my pup and sit outside. - S
Great cool local place to visit. Not too sure if you actually buy a book here. Lighting is quite dim - Angelica W
