The pizza pot pie is sauce, cheese , and your choice of toppings, sealed with dough in a casserole dish, baked, and served upside down. A unique and tastier alternative to traditional Chicago deep dish
No reservations taken here but relax you will find a table. There's a guy who will greet you & remember your party, trust me he just knows. He will find you a spot when the time is right, he's the Guy
If food could be coined in such a way, the pizza pot pie would be easily one of the seven wonders of the world, resting at the top of the food pyramid for deliciousness! A must have in Chicago!
Pizza meets pie here, literally. The famous Pizza Pot Pie is an individual serving of Sicilian bread-type dough , homemade sauce , whole plum tomatoes , a special blend of tomatoes , sausage & mushrooms . Read more
As a pizza fanatic this was one of my favorite experiences in Chicago!! The wait is very well worth it! That Mediterranean bread is off the charts good and the pizza is simply delightful!! Love it!
Pizza pot pie with everything in it is a must. 1.5 hrs waiting at 10pm, so we ordered it to go (30 mins wait) and enjoyed it in our hotel which was only about 15 mins away. Still hot, fresh & YUM!!!!
It's gonna be a long wait but it is well worth it! It's a small menu but for good reason - everything is perfected! Don't forget, cash only !
This place puts a whole new spin on deep dish pizza by putting it in a pie! Its food is delicious authentic (family-style) Italian, so come with lots of friends! Don't skip the Mediterranean bread !
Pizza Pot Pie , obviously! Well done and worth the hour+ long waits even just after they open. Do yourself a favor in Chicago and go here! Often!
What makes a simple salad is the assortment of dressings made in-house. Drinks offered could be better but that’s part of the rustic charm. pot pie is delicious, worth the wait for out of town guests
Meat pizza pie was fantastic, one pound is definitely good enough for two people. Service was excellent, staff was constantly checking in on us. The wait was quite long, but in the end it was worth it
Went in to try the "Pizza Pot Pie " which was good. But their sandwiches were the star. Toasted perfectly & full of flavor. I suggest the meatball or sausage ....or maybe both.
Make sure to get the bread and salad ! Mix the house dressings and pour on both. You won't regret it!
Good things come to those who wait - very busy, but worth it! No reservations & cash only ! Highly recommend a salad with the poppy-seed dressing , the Mediterranean bread , and the famous Pizza Pot Pie !
My mom, daughter and I split a chef salad , flatbread , and large meat pizza w/shrooms. Very filling and worth the hour and a half wait!
Most of the portions are big enough to share, and the overall atmosphere is really cozy . Great spot for a first date or any date night , really. The Half-Pounder is the way to go!
The order is simple: Mediterranean bread , pizza pot pie with meat and mushrooms and a bottle of red wine !
The Pizza Pot Pie is amazing! Best pizza in Chicago , hands down!
Get there early and expect to wait in line . Shared the house salad , Mediterranean bread , and one small pizza . We were stuffed
Forget the deep dish that Chicago is famous for and go straight here for the Pot Pie ! The Mediterranean bread is decent too but too much for just two people! Expect a 1 hour wait -worth it :)
This is my favorite restaurant . We always get a salad , their Mediterranean bread , and a pizza pot pie and everything is fantastic. They only take cash and they memorize your face to call for a table.
Place is known for its pizza , but if you eat here you've gotta order the Mediterranean bread . Spectacular. Also, the house-made salad dressings are terrific. A party in your mouth to which everyone is
Pizza pot pie of course! Even if the other house specialty , the Mediterranean bread looked amazing! Next time!
Pizza pot pie = amazing! Reasonably priced. We shared a large chef salad , flatbread & a large pizza between 3 ppl & it was plenty. Also, they don't accept cards , so make sure you bring enough cash
Really good! We ordered over the phone and picked up, which was a good options because the place was PACKED. BUT totally worth it if you have the time!
Did your parents ever tell you to be patient? Expect to wait up to hours for what some locals call the best pizza in Chicago . Their pies are basically chicken pot pie , but made of gooey pizza !
If you are really into pizza this is your place ???? the best pizza I've ever had.. try the vegetarian and the sausage .. Heaven ????
This place is crazy on weekends. Dodge the 2+ hr wants and get a to-go. It's awesome that the guys remember you by face and refuse to write down your name!
Those pizza pot pies ????????. The Mediterranean bread ????????. Come hungry, leave incredibly satisfied.

They've got the best pies this side of the Calumet River . Head to RJ Grunts for a cold Oreo milkshake after. (helps with the digestive system!)
Chef 's salad , Mediterranean bread , and veggie pizza pot pie ! One of my favorite dinners in the city ! Very friendly service ! Worth the wait!
My beau and I love the Pizza Pot Pie . Delicious. In fact, he's always looking for an excuse to go. But be ready: cash only .
The salads are awesome! The pizzas are fantastic and like nothing we have ever tried. Bring lots of cash since they do not take CC's.
I actually wasn’t a huge fan of the pizza pot pie . It wasn’t bad, of course, but I wish you could choose your filling, that they cut up the mushrooms inside, and that the cheese on top was broiled.
One of my favorite places in Chicago, Mediterranean bread so yummy! And the pizza pot pie super delicious!
Don't take your dates here for 2 reasons. First, you have to wait at least an hour. Second, you come here to fall in love with the food which is so exciting that you can't afford to be distracted.
One of my all time favorites in Chicago. Pizza pot pie and Mediterranean bread are incredible.
Wait was incredibly long but food was so fantastic!
Have the Mediterranean Bread with a house salad . Mix the garlic & poppy seed dressing together, dip the bread into the dressing . Mmm tasty, & if you're there in the fall, try an adam's apple .
The Mediterranean bread is delicious! Ask for olive oil on the side and make a delicious salt pepper parmesan olive oil mixture to dip in!
Lots of food for the price. Remember... it's cash-only and they don't take reservations ! But really, you won't be disappointed. Great date location.
Amazing pizza pot pie and salad .. Stopped in here in winter eve and had a great time.
...loved this place. Only one type of pizza pot pie .....and 5 sandwiches , so don't expect a "pizza selection".....its a unique experience......definitely far from the best pizza in Chicago ....lol.
You guys. Pizza Pot Pie is sooooo gooooodddd!!! Also: small salads feed 3-4. Yum!
The pizza pot pie was absolutely one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. Go. Go now.
Tony Romano , acclaimed author of several novels capturing the Chicago Italian-American immigrant experience, recommends this venue for "one of the most unusual and tasty pizzas " in the city .
This Mediterranean bread is very seasoned and delicious
Very much worth the long wait that you will inevitably face. Pizza Pot Pie sounds weird, but it's amazing.
Pot Pie Pizza , just like lasagna with bread . 1/2 size US$18.72.
The zephy is delicious. Also good for brunch - Bloody Mary either mini pizza on top and breakfast pizza - Melissa E
Had this while on a Road Trip. Most amazing pizza Everrrr! The blackened crust is my favorite and I've been craving it ever since. - Jennifer Roemmich
I love my salsiccia. This pizze and a Peroni is a good little self-indulgence. And the panna cotta is delightful! - D Browne
Plenty to see, great scenery and pretty informative signs at the exhibits. Overall is a great experience. - Carlos Llamacho
Chocolate cupcake with brownbutter frosting is the best cupcake I have had in any major city. Good dessert place for a date night. Coffe isn't bad either. - Rémy Thenot-Siegel
Fascinating historical spot and yet nothing marks it. What remains is a parking lot and small grassy space. Check out the phenomenal pizzeria across the street and have a beer (prohibition is over:) ) - Erik Rowley
