Ideal for a romantic meal for two. The menu tends toward gamier options like antelope loin with chick pea barigoule, olive oil cured olives and feta , a nod to the region's hunting traditions. Read more
Now this is the place to go in Charleston. This is the top notch sexiest place. It's in the rear of the Wentworth mansion. All the guest and workers are dressed up. The food is more towards game.
What a meal! Go with the win pairing. It's worth it, up until their specialty port . Too raisin-y for my taste. Menu changes , but if they happen to have the beef , plain as it seems, go with it!
Definitely a good restaurant . Go with a larger party and you can get the room to yourselves! Desserts ! You have to save room for one... Maybe two. That. Good.
Everything was absolutely amazing! Service, food, atmosphere. ..everything. I wish we had a place like this near my home in NYC.
After visiting Middleton Place, Penelope went to Circa 1886 for Plantation Rice Rolls . A nod to Charleston's past, made from rice flour & served with whipped olive oil . A delicious starter.
If you haven't been you really should go! It's amazing. The antelope is fantastic as well as any of the seafood .
Ambiance, service, food presentation, reasonably priced and well chosen wine list
The service is always impeccable! The food is delicious no matter what you get.
We went for a three course meal. Everything was excellent. Best for dates and special occasions .
The Carolina gold rice is the best rice in Charleston, which is why it’s on our list of The Tastes That Make the City : Charleston. Read more
Expensive but the food was amazing--sweetbreads and halibut were winners. Try the Night Blossom cocktail straight up with the 'dirty ice' on the side to add as you wish.
Sit at the bar and have a drink. Beautiful landscape.
The shrimp and grits is delicious as is the grilled cheese . Very inventive.
Our menu changes with the season, but antelope is a permanent fixture. This summer Chef Marc Collins dreamed up an Antelope Schnitzel preparation. So delicious.
Lamb was awesome. So was the antelope and the rabbit .
Try the Carolina Gold Rice and Popcorn Cake ; it's delicious.
Excellent tasting menus restaurant serving high end low country eats.
Wow. The food is amazing. Fantastic manhattans , too!
If you get nothing else in winter '10-'11, get the pear souffle . I'll be back weekly for a cocktail and this until it's off the menu .
From #TLSponChat: “@TJtheGreyt: Dining at Circa 1886 is always amazing.”
Very good, but not great. Entree lacked flavor, but salad and dessert were delicious. Our server Peter was excellent.
The service, the food and cocktails !
Try the Apple Barbeque Braised Pork Ton Toro
Try the Buttermilk Praline Panna Cotta
Try the Cinnamon Rubbed Antelope Loin
Best food in town hands down.
