I just love doing homework in this space, just the right amount of noise and music . It can be crowded but you can almost always find someone to share a table with!

Project Latte: a NYC cafe culture guide

This architecturally stunning spot on the Columbia University campus has fast free wifi , courtesy of the college, real good sandwiches , quality baked goods and great coffee . Read more

Megan Baker

Best coffee on Columbia's campus, but lacking gluten free food choices. The hibiscus iced tea is an awesome choice when you don't feel like coffee . Beware: the chai mix has dairy in it, is not vegan .

Aaron Allon

Awesome place to work or have an informal meeting. Amazing coffee . I'm a big fan of the small latte or flat white depending on what part of the world you are in.

Josh S.

Well crafted, high quality coffee . This location is super convenient for those of us who live in the Heights! Never had trouble getting a seat, but I tend not to mind sharing a table with a stranger.

Michael T

Great coffee of course! Good spot for pourover , although you may have to fight for a table. Great spot to work if you can get it.

We don't enjoy Joe's espresso as much since the switch to Intelli Black Cat, but today's thick, bright shot had a fruity enough aftertaste to overcome the popcorn-y tinge and left us wanting another.

Chris Evans

The coffee is the hero, but those sea salt chocolate chip cookies are goddamn amazing. Take some napkins, because the chocolate can get very gooey.

Madeline McDavid

Come for the enormous glass walls that look out onto the more traditional architecture of Columbia's Teacher 's College. Coffee feels standard, and food options are sadly a bit limited.

Peter Boyce

Amazing coffee , awesome floor-to-ceiling windows. Great place to study if you can snag a table. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more

Julie

Get a chai latte and share a table with a stranger. The views from the floor to ceiling windows and a warm drink make you feel like studying even when you are exhausted.

Eric Gallegos

The pros: Amazing WiFi , good coffee , and ample seating . The cons: only 4 outlets and the counter closes early.

Eduardo Santana

If you haven't tried the French Dip , you are really missing out. If you're vegetarian , the Guacamole & Hummus Sandwich is the tastiestiest combo of vegetarian fun between two awesome slices of bread .

Adna

Love the fact that there's a Joe coffee at Columbia . Seating area has great natural light but fills up quickly.

Foad Torshizi

Long queue! Other than that everything tastes great. I love their sandwiches , though most people are in line for the great coffee .

Heewa Barfchin

Big open space , great coffee , wifi . Good for working with a laptop, especially now that Lenox Coffee 's Internet is basically nonfunctional.

Kurumi

These chairs leave weird imprints on legs ...so wear pants or a long skirt if coming to do work or sit a while :)

Cheryl Huang

This joe is near/in Columbia university is so crowed with students who occupy most of the seats doing their homework. Some of them don't even order coffee or food. Very inconsiderate people!!!!!

Roger Schonfeld

Occasional long lines because this is this only option in the science and engineering quadrant of the Columbia campus. And it's good!

John

The new flavor from Guatemala is good. I recommend it if you drink pour overs rather than espresso .

The Corcoran Group

A much better alternative to Starbucks – with a smooth and rich coffee . Pair it with a delicious muffin . Or take some beans home to brew it yourself.

Lindsey Frances

Beautiful panoramic view of 120th street and Teacher 's College

Felicia Z.

Quality coffee drinks and beautiful all-glass and granite environment. Generally dislike the music and they continuously skipped my order when redeeming my customer loyalty card (10 drinks = 1 free).

Serious Eats

Joe's good coffee is a given, but the Manhattan mini-chain specializes in friendly , helpful service .

Eric Venker

Probably the only decent coffee shop on Columbia's campus. Plan on a pass through with every table full almost all day long.

L. T.

Usually hard to find a seat. The lines go quickly, though. So you'll be in and out in no time.

Samantha Henderson

This has one of the nicest restrooms on the Columbia campus—and you're not required to buy anything à la Starbucks.

Jonathan Gomez

Great open space with nice view and coffee to keep you going.

Will Harahan

One of the better spots to grab a coffee and sit on campus.

Felicia M

Great atrium to sit with fantastic light from the huge windows. Always crowded .

Julie Avra

if u come at the end of the day (7-8pm) they might give you an extra cookie !

Lesley Cordero

there is almost never seating in joe's, so don't be shy and just join someone's table.

Jackie Luo

Nice place to study at Columbia! However, it's always packed, so finding a seat can be a struggle.

Brian

Excellent coffee , and great chocolate almond protein drinks.

André Silveira

Good atmosphere and good food. If you wanna try a breakfast sandwich try it with ham . My girl has ordered without ham and said mine's better.

Pierluigi Bellini

The Almond Croissant is everything! Perfect with a cappuccino ????

Aura Barrera

The iced matcha was good!

Will

A regular cappuccino/latte comes with 2 shots of espresso already, be cautious adding an extra shot unless caffeine is your religion.

Patrick P.

One of the best coffees in the city . Try their soy latte !

Mark Choi

Awesome espresso .. get 10 $2 coffees .. your 11th $5.50 large ice mocha is free!

Amy Cummings

Amazing latte ! Best coffee around Columbia's campus.

Inside New York

The line may be long but it's worth the wait. Hungry? Try their healthy and tasty pb&j :)

Piper Flusser

Best tasting coffee and the soy they use is Pacific Soy Barista Blenders which makes all the difference if ur dairy-free like me

Lea Ceasrine

My favorite coffee in NYC – smooth and rich. Good Chai 's too.

Zi Li

Try to grab a seat by the window on a sunny afternoon and enjoy the sun and watch people passing by.

Christine P

Packed with college kids, long lines though move quickly, hard to get a seat, cappuccino was delicious but even for NY ridiculously priced. At least there's good eye candy .

Alex Robertson

They had Underwest Donuts

Josica ????

Iced latte was pretty good, great space to study.

John

The Colombian coffee is from the wrong place in Colombia. Instead of being from the coffee region it's from the sugar region, hence why it may not be the favored coffee here.

bridget s

Espresso Macchiato is better here than anywhere else in the world and now I can't go anywhere else. THANKS.
