Adorable cups for the coconut slush , fast service once you're seated, and crazy yummy braised pork in the ramen . Love the thicker noodles and the intense mala spice in the regular high five noodles .

Time Out Chicago

The minimalist menu begins with a stern warning of how spicy the soup can be—and spicy it is, but worth the momentary pain. Cool down with fruity slushie cocktail or sip on some sake . Read more

The best ramen I've had in Chicago. Go solo to avoid the wait. Half spice is great, if you're sensitive to spice get no spice and ask for the spice on the side.

Chefs Feed

"Not for the faint of heart, it is incredibly spicy and almost hurts while you eat it, but for some reason you cannot stop. (They offer it half spicy , but I say go big or go home.) " Chef Gerald Smith Read more

High five ramen is now my favorite ramen in Chicago . Amazing atmosphere, great staff , and out of this world food.

Greg Macek

Small little ramen shop in the basement under a restaurant/bar. 16-20 seats. Shoyu ramen was excellent & broth was not too salty. $4 old Grand Dad bourbon ? Yes please! Arrive early for shorter wait.

Alicia J

Tonkatsu broth is legit noodles aren't 100% but the best over Wasabi for sure. Go spicy or go home ????✌️

Samantha Rangel

Avoid overexerting yourself and just opt for the half spice . Imo the broth is richer and more enjoyable than the face melting full spice . Slushies are super fun size read: v small.

John Khuu

Put your name in, drink $5 beers from the sink near the bar , drink, talk to the people around you, go down to eat ramen , and then go elsewhere/home happy.

Paulie Dery

Tiny 16 seat ramen joint. Super spicy ramen with jammin hip hop beats. Sake is overpriced but the whole experience is worth every penny.

Mike

My ramen experiences are limited but this place was phenomenal. Service is fast. Get your tonkatsu at half spice or you'll die.

Sandeep Paruchuri

Only go here with a small group (2-4 max), go early, and be prepared to wait (its below Green St, so you can nibble/imbibe upstairs)

Léo Le Brun

Get the no-spice ramen . You can always add spice to it at the table. Your tastebuds will thank me.

Erika Davis

Half spice is recommended, for first time anyway, so you can enjoy the flavor. I have to say it was extremely salty though. Creamy & dense, more of a winter ramen .

Sheila D

opens at 6. be here at 6. entire party must be present or you go to the back if the line . half spicy is excellent!

Heidi Q

Perfect Spicy ramen and onikoroshi juice boxes!

Ron Gibori

Great ramen . Go with the half spice , full spice will burn a whole in your stomach

Manoj Ambalavanan

The ramen is a bit spicy with my 1/4 spice being perfect for a typical low tier spice guy

Jamie Mack

Half spice is the way to go.

Justin White

Half Spice , Double Pork . You know the spice is right when it burns as much going in as it burns going out. ????

Iris

Best for no bigger than a party of 3 (for the inside seating at least).

Jennifer Misong Magiera

Grab a drink from green street while you wait.

Darryl Tom

While I don't mind spicy food , I like the no spice high five noodles the best.

Cat Gao

There are exactly 16 seats. (I counted.) Be prepared to wait upwards of 40 minutes, even on weeknights.

Tom T

The wait is 1000% worth it

Kris b

had a hard time finding the pork under all the (half)spice ..

Ozzy Noriega

Best Ramen in Chicago ! Go early or really late

Fatima A

The chicken and mushroom ramen ????

Jillian Pobocan

Put your name in and come back in 3 hrs

Dana Panya

If you're in the neighborhood , just pop by and see if the wait is long. If not-- give it a shot. It's definitely not worth a 45+ min wait.

Annette Lesak

Grab a donut from the Vault Van if it's there!

charleen

shio ramen everytime ❤️

Christian Trapp

Great Ramen !

Anton Artemov

More hipster than a ramen place

Simon Slays

Honestly not worth the wait

Albert L

The wait is really not worth it. Seats 16, and line is out the door on a Friday night. Shoyu ramen is light and flavorful, high five ramen is heavier. There are better ramen places in Wicker Park .

ashish rastogi

Not worth the wait - extremely overhyped (may be due to perceived exclusivity of seating only 15 people at a time). One can find much better Ramen in the city !

ashish rastogi

Not worth the wait at all!! Even Ramen-San is better than this...

Maggie

Disappointing, not worth the wait. Beware of the yuzu slushie .
