Make sure to carry water if you're on a long run. I couldn't find a working fountain so was glad I brought some. The paths are muddy but it's less crowded than Wash Park . Very scenic !
Newer runners often wear too much clothing when the temperature drops. Concentrate most of your efforts on protecting your feet, hands, and ears. Body heat will do the rest of the work!
Huge beautiful park , great for lounging in the sun, playing with your dog, or riding your bike around! You can even see the mountains !
Track Etiquette: Keep to the right side as much as possible. Use the left side for passing, just as you would on the highway.
Looking to start walking or jogging? Fall is the the perfect season! Not too hot, not too cold. See ya out there!
Sounds insulting to say, but be super careful when jogging at night or early in the morning; some people/cars WILL run you over at the crosswalks.
In the summer, they turn the sprinklers on in the early AM. If you're out on the track/path, circa dawn, be prepared to get wet.
Beautiful place to soak up this intoxicating Colorado air and scenery.
Perfect for runs at dawn. Just be sure to wear something bright or reflective so drivers can see you well in the early light.
Remember to be courteous. Keep on the right hand side of the path unless you're passing someone.
If you have a dog, bring some of your own plastic bags. The park/city offers them, but they always seem to be out.
Make sure you visit the cheese man park pavilion it is known to be a great but not famous historical sight
After a snow, be hyper vigilant when traversing the cross-walks. Ninety-five percent of the falls seem to occur there.
1 lap around the outside is juuust about a mile and a half. Do 2 laps and 2 bonus blocks for your 5k.
Try going over the hill to avoid getting over the hill ;-)
