Cheesman Park was named after Walter Cheesman at the start of the 20th century (1907); in fact, his family financed the beautiful, neoclassical pavilion you see on the eastern side of the park .
This is a great park to run or take your dog for a nice walk or throw the ball. It can get busy on weekends. Beautiful sunset from the columns. If you are local ride your bike there & watch sunset
In the Fall, trees stop producing chlorophyll. The carotenoids present in the leaves can finally show through. The leaves become a bright mix of glowing yellows, warm oranges and comforting browns.

Night of the Living dead could happen here with hipsters , hippies and gay people. Love hanging here to drink bloody marys on a nice day and people watch . Former cemetery . Theres stillsome bodies.
Great Urban Park . It sits on the site of what was the old Denver City Cemetery . They say it's haunted. Nevertheless, playground , running and walking path .
Beautiful place to enjoy he weekend sun. And the history of this place is fun! Walk around a bit and look for the History board. You won't be disappointed.

This was Denver's first cemetery so the park is haunted. I even heard you can see a ghost floating around the pavilion some nights.... Beautiful park though! One of my favorites in Denver!
They close the park to vehicles on the first Sunday of each month; in addition, they block off the entrances for certain holidays and special events .

Really nice park in a great neighborhood ... But there was an odd bunch of homeless people gathered around the main area on top of the hill
Go to the rose garden in the middle of the park and just sit. Breathe. And enjoy the peaceful mixture of nature and city noises.

Great spot for running! One lap around the park is about 1.4 miles and pretty flat. Dog and kid friendly !

In the 1800's cheeseman was denvers original grave yard until the city decided to make a park , and exumed all the bodys. The place is haunted. Go there at night.

Drive the speed limit on your way home from work. The park has a posted speed limit of 15mph. It's not a short cut, it's a park .

Make sure to carry water if you're on a long run. I couldn't find a working fountain so was glad I brought some. The paths are muddy but it's less crowded than Wash Park. Very scenic! - Darcy B
