Hama Sushi

Located on the former Grand Canal in Historic Venice Beach CA, Hama was founded in 1979 and was one of the first "Authentic Japanese Sushi" Restaurants in The United States .

The Hama Special Roll is awesome. Shrimp tempura , avocado , and cucumber topped with masago. Just ask, and it will be made with easy brown rice as well .

The Super Veggie Roll with Tempura squash , eggplant , zucchini and string bean rolled in soy paper can also be prepared with brown rice . #awesome

be sure to make a rezzy, especially on a Friday and Saturday because it gets packed and there's a chance that you still have a short wait . the sushi is absolutely worth it!

Some of the best sushi I've had in West LA :) a bit biased since I work here, ha. must have: Venice Roll & the tempura ice cream (favorite flavor: green tea ^_^)

Some of the best sushi around. So much fun there! Sit at the bar and talk to people and the sushi chefs . Also, for the best service buy your chef a drink. It's customary when eating sushi .

Been reading YELP. Most of the servers seem to be on point, considering the kind of clientele they prob have to deal with (some insane stories i've heard) at times, being in the "Service Industry".

I forgot how good this place is - the best sushi in West LA. Ask for Elizabeth at the sushi bar and their Green Devil roll rocks.

Good sushi if you like american sushi . The traditional options are okay, if anything I recommend the Miso Cod . Worth the money but not exceptional.

There’s much better sushi spots in LA. However, Shiso Lemon Roll was light & fresh. Crispy Rice Cake tasty.

Brown rice can replace white rice on all rolls, and sushi dishes.

Incredible sushi and chef Masa will whip you up some amazingly creative dishes if you ask him. And the jalepeno yellow tail is an A+.

Pretty average sushi restaurant . The decor isn't that impressive, nor is the sushi either. More so it's somewhere to go for convenience.
