Alta Plaza Park

Pac Heights neighborhood park with great views of the city and North Bay . Great spot for a picnic -- just grab some food from one of the many restaurants on Fillmore St or Mollie Stone's Grocery

Some of my favorite views of the city from the stairs looking South, looking North towards the bay at Pierce & Jackson, and looking SE through the park from the top of the park at Jackson & Scott.

Get your coffee or blueberry muffin in my case. And sit on the top. The view is great.

Excellent park facility in Pacific Height. There is a kids playground area and also large grass area for dogs. Breathtaking view of SF. Two visits during our short trip to SF. The kids love it here.

Tip re: "loose dogs" posted by someone uneducated re: SF. This is one of SF's best dog parks ; but if your dog isn't good w/voice control or tends to misbehave, probably best not the place to come.

Bring a blanket and a book to lay on the grass. Or play tennis on one of the three courts, no booking needed.

Walk the dog, play tennis , sunbathe , stroll. Don't miss the stunning views , which are particular lovely in the evening.

The park ranger does a terrible job of letting you know that he sprayed roundup poison on the long grass. Don't let your dog eat it.

Walk around the edges and then mount the hill , you just can't beat that view .
