Neighbor Bakehouse has been slinging breakfast goods at its own storefront for over a year now, and the croissants have already been rated as among the best this city has to offer. Read more

Pistachio blackberry twice-baked croissant is amazing. It looks burnt but don't worry. Cinnamon almond bostock is another must-try.

Daniel Eden

Friendly staff , great coffee , and amazing, daily-made pastries make this one of my favorite spots. Everything is great, but make sure you try the Bostock.

Alice M

Possibly the best pastries in San Francisco? We got the last veggie tart and a croissant , both of which were perfectly crispy , flaky, buttery, and packed with flavor. The espresso was good too!

Richard Sinn

This is the best bakery in San Francisco! The staff is super friendly , and both the sweet and savory goods are excellent. I personally love the Kimchi toast . Mm mm good!

Luis Castro

Thanks to this place, I'm now broken, I'm from Europe and I just can't find a croissant so perfect like the ones the produce here. I'm on a search of something like it here now. This is a hidden gem

Bethany Dufresne

The best! My personal faves are the passionfruit doughbun, smoked fish croissant , veggie and sauerkraut tarts . Pictured: chocolate doughbun, sauerkraut tart and kimchi toast .

On the Grid

Greg Mindel slow-ferments his dough , which lends a distinctive tangy taste to his exquisitely layered pastries . Don’t miss the sauerkraut , smoked cheddar , and peppadew tart studded with black sesame . Read more

Artisanal baked products near SOMA. Moderately expensive but worth every penny. The daily special loaf is great and only $2 more than a loaf from Acme.

Matt Longstaff

Amazing pastries and savory snacks baked on site. Good coffee to go with them. There are often queues and some things go quickly so worth getting there as early as your weekend brain will allow you

"If I had to pick something new, it would be the twice-baked pistachio and blackberry croissant at Neighbor Bakery . It's insane." -Amanda Gold Read more

My wife and I took a friend to this restaurant for dinner . It was our third time this year. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent.

Patricia Lee

Yummy and expensive but probably comparable to other small pastry shops . I like the kimchi toast for savory, the guava and cheese pastelito for sweet, and the croissant for whatever.

Trace D.

Everything I've tried has been great. First timers: try the Ham Ball or the Mushroom Tart . Both the savory and the sweet wow me. The coffee is fantastic too!

Donovan Marlar

Great coffee shops , Neighbor Bakehouse is a welcome addition. Good coffee , wonderfully friendly staff , and some of the best and most eclectic pastries I’ve ever eaten.

Amanda Bratton

Such a great Neighbor Bakehouse with low-cost. Get their kimchi toast , or the great coffee for something veggie and sauerkraut tarts . Good sweets and coffee as well .

m d

Very good croissants . Get up early and grab nice breads .

Connie Chiu

Cute spot but good pastries run out pretty early in the morning. The almond bonstock (spelling?) and ginger pull apart are favs. The ham/cheese morning bun and doughp are not as good.

Melody Han

Truly impressive selection of savory baked goods (everything croissant , curried potato , mushroom tart ). Good sweets and coffee as well .

Jason Yun

literally can't go wrong here, but the blackberry/pistachio croissant , cinnamon almond bostock , chocolate claw , and cold brew are standouts

Nick Crocker

9.7/10 for Neighbor is too low. The only bad thing about this place is its proximity to my house. I use 47% of my self control every day trying not to eat everything here.

Arthur Liao

The butter croissant - so crunchy and flaky on the outside, light as air on the inside. Even better if you drank too much the night before.

Craig Villamor

It’s all good but be sure to try a ginger pull apart . Lines tend to be long on weekends.

Justin ????

De la Paz coffee executed well . Former Front and Piccino Barista. All the baked goods are amazing but the selection gets small by 10am.

Chris Williams

More creative options than e.g., Tartine + Arsicault!

Al B.

Come here early as lines are expected 100%. You can order sweet pastries as well as savory ones for brunch as well !

Rochelle McCune

Speciality items are fantastic but the plain croissant is the best I've had in years - buttery, flaky perfection.

The Taste Sheriff

Such a cool little bakery in an up and coming neighborhood of the city . Try the almond croissant !

Justin McKissick

Mr. Holmes can't touch this place. I got a croissant and chocolate claw with cold brew , all so so good.

Sravanti Tekumalla

The pistachio blackberry twice baked croissant ???? mostly pastries here, so eat something before and come for a post-breakfast or lunch treat.

Holly D

lovely neighborhood staple - take the staff recommendations for pastries to heart (& to go)! passionfruit !!!

Linda Yang

Guava pastelitos are my favorite pastries in SF. Bostocks and dough buns are also good.

Rheya Shano

The croque madame , the sauerkraut tarte , and croissants are delicious!

Melon L

The twice baked pistachio blackberry croissant is out of this world.

Yaron S

It's all good. Seriously, everything. Make sure to get there early as they are usually closed by noon

L.

I followed my intuition and ordered "Chocolate-Chocolate Claw". The Claw made me a nice morning. :)

Bommy

Guava & cream cheese pastelito is very tasty. Skip the peanut butter cookie - it's too sweet and floury.

Jeff Reine ????

Pastries are the best but on rainy days there’s nowhere to rest

sabler

The whole Dogpatch shows up at exactly the same time on Saturday mornings.

sohail

Everything is fresh and tasty. We take our pastries over to Crane Cove Park and enjoy the peaceful mornings.

Archith Murali

Croissants and mushroom tart are fantastic

Maya Byrne

Croissants are delicious! Get there early to grab a seat outside (outside seating only!)

Garry Tan

Pistachio blackberry all the way. #1 thing to eat there.

dave murphy

Best croissant in town - more typical of a French croissant than Tartine 's delicious monster.

Umi Hui

Everything in one, savory croissant is a must!

Sean L

Get one sweet and one savory. Everything is great, I recommend the ginger pull-apart.

Michael Lintorn-Catlin

The chocolate claw is great – flaky pastry and not too sweet. Or keep it simple with a buttery croissant .

Anton Shuster

Try the Valrhona chocolate claw , twice-baked pistachio blackberry jam croissant , and kimchi buns .

Gerard Reyes

Get the Chocolate Pudding Doughp bun if you want chocolate ! (Yes, it's doughp!)

Mike Winn
