Fun atmosphere along with mainstream pasta dishes and some unique ones given that the origin of this concept is from Japan.

This Japanese-Italian's been my fave for over 15 yrs! Order app portions of 2 diff pastas 4 variety: Spaghetti Con Uova Di Pesce (tobiko & shiso ) and Linguine Ai Ricci (fresh uni, basil , pink sauce )
The most unusual of flavor combinations (done right) results in the most appealing of dishes. Open for almost 25 years, this restaurant consistently creates fresh and innovative dishes. Read more
Been coming here for over 12 years and the quality is still fantastic. One of my favorite spots in NY. Fish roe tobiko pasta is amazing, so is mussels & clams appetizer , Caesar salad & flam dessert .
The spaghetti con prosciutto e parmigiano served in a cheese wheel was absolutely amazing!!
Get exactly this: Drink Sangria . Start with Cartoccio Di Funghi Misti. Then get Spaghetti Con Prosciutto E Parmigiano or Ravioli Di Vitello Prosciutto . End with Torta Di Parmigiano or Sorbet . Enjoy!
Fresh tasting pasta , it's like a cleaner, less heavier version of Italian food that's just as delicious. Recommend having an early dinner here since it gets crowded fast
Get the duck to start. Do yourself a favor, everyone get their own uni linguine so you don't fight and share the spaghetti coated in Parmesan cheese wheel . Just do it!
The silk handkerchief pasta & the ravioli were delicious. I’d skip the cheese wheel spaghetti (boring & the unmelted cheese makes it too heavy). The uni pasta was good but mostly tasted of tomato
Our table was ready right at our reserved time. Got their ravioli and "Spaghetti Con Prosciutto E Parmigiano" (it's spaghetti made in a half wheel cheese at your table), both dishes were delicious.
Pasta with tobiko was insanely good: lightly creamy and subtly fishy. The spaghetti had a nice bite to it. Pasta with sea urchin was rich and also delicious
We got a bunch of the pastas as appetizer portions and shared. Our favorites were the Parmesan wheel and the uni with pink sauce .
Pastas live up to all the hype- prosciutto pasta and squid ink pasta were delicious. Duck with mushrooms was a knockout too.
A favorite is the tobiko spaghetti . Service is amazing and everyone speaks Japanese so for those looking for a language practice and very unique pasta , this is the place to go to!
Italian ingredients; Japanese subtleties. This place rocks. Try the sweet potato gnocchi , the tuna , or octopus appetizers . They're all good. Follow them with the veal ravioli .
The penne with bacon and cream sauce was the clear winner - this was the appetizer portion which was perfect. You will not be disappointed!
I like the way they present the caesar salad and spaghetti con prosciutto e parmigiano. New sense of Italian cuisine by Japanese.
The Spaghetti Prosciutto e Parmigiano Regiano is good and fun to watch... but the sea urchin (uni) pasta stole the show.
Excellent food italian food cooked by amazing japanese chefs . Just seat and enjoy. Reservation recommended.
lovely place open late for lighter fare italian, service is impeccable. octopus was good. try the grapefruit juice !
A Japanese-style pasta place loved by Asians. I found the famous uni pasta a bit bland, but the cheese wheel pasta was incredibly rich and tasty. Overall, worth-trying but not my favorite!
Top 3 Italian restaurants in NYC - tobiko pasta is absolutely delectable as is the Chilean sea bass with ricotta and cucumber . Open kitchen is an added perk
I highly recommend checking the daily specials for the Pesce Crudo Del Giorno (fish carpaccio of the day) as well as the Pasta special . Must try the Spaghetti Con Prosciutto E Parmigiano. Read more
Perfectly cooked al dente noodles . The Chilean sea bass pasta has a nice spicy sauce and is more flavorful than the uni. Order half portions of the pasta for variety.
Had the seafood pasta very good. Tiramisu phenom. A bit stuffy in summer inside.
Interesting Japanese Italian fusion...pretty good food slightly higher price point but overall pretty good...I would go back!
I was really excited to be here but I was a bit underwhelmed by the prosciutto parmesano that I came here to eat since it is prepared in a cheese wheel . The place has no ac and the food was blend
Flavorful, great selections of pasta . I liked the Spaghetti con Prosciutto e Parmigiano, but I'm sure they're all great.
The spaghetti con prosciutto e parmigiano is the only way to go. Great presentation - wheel of cheese ! - and flavour.
Get the spaghetti in Parmigiano-Reggiano – they cook it in front of you! And the chocolate lava cake , though small, is yummy.
Uni linguini , you won't regret it. Spaghetti in the wheel of parmeggiano is def a must. Try everything On the menu, or as much until your stomach says no!
They have a lunch prix fixe menu . Order the garganelli with Basta pasta meat sauce.
Homemade ravioli , uni pasta , bottle of wine , autumn jewel... & girl take = perfect dinner
So good. Try the pumpkin gnocchi . Penne with mozzarella . Ravioli . So incredibly fresh. And the service is great too. Can't go wrong.
A surprising Japanese touch to Italian food . The sea urchin pasta is excellent.
Generally on the bland side. No taste of sage in the pumpkin gnocchi with sage cream sauce . Baked mushrooms were fresh, but salt profile was very uneven. Ravioli had tough bits of prosciutto ..
Uni pasta is a must for sea urchin lovers.
Sea scallop tuna tartare with corn tempura was off the hook. Must get if you see it on the special menu
Fantastic japanese pasta place in NYC
The spaghetti con prosciutto e parmigiano served in a cheese wheel changed my life. All pasta should be served like this!
Always love Basta Pasta, from the amazing pastas to the perfectly grill fish
Can't get enough of the handsome waiters , sea urchin pasta with pink sauce , caesar salad and grilled octopus . This is a must every time I visit Manhattan .
Italian food translated in a unique way by Japanese chefs . Two great noodle cultures merge!
Uni pasta is the draw, but don't let that keep you from trying everything else!
Great $19 3 course lunch special . Love the Basta Pasta sauce.
Love the sea urchin pasta ! Must try.
Italian meets Asia with some very fresh pasta
Delicious, fresh food with a unique fusion preparation
Uni Pasta is the best! Get there early or make reservations as there is limited seating .
Spaghetti in the parmesan wheel -- have to have it and I recommend getting it for the table.
The uni pasta is to die for!!!
Go for broke and get the caprese pizza. They replaced the mozz with fresh home made straciatella and it is the bomb. - Varun Shetty
The roast chicken is even better than before if you can believe that. Insalata Mista & Roast Chicken. Great lunch! - Peter Ferraro
Their whole cocktail menu is delicious, and the ambience is unique. If it's warm enough, check out the backyard. - Andrew Litvak
