If you'd like to cook by the water, bring in a small grill. The BBQ pits are scarce and are swooped up quickly. Also bring some chairs and set up under a tree for shade. Take the dog out as well !
Here for the off leash dog fun? Turkey Creek is FREE but you have to park at the lot BEFORE you pay $10 to enter the main park . Cross the narrow bridge near this pic and park in the lot on the right.
Hiking , water, pups!! Walk along the loop going against the "flow of traffic" so you'll get to see all the dogs passing by you!!
Austin's largest city-owned park has a leash-free area between City Park Road , the west park boundary fence, Turkey Creek and the top ridge of the bluff line overlooking Lake Austin.
LOVE the Turkey Creek dog trail . Nice 3 mile hike , leash free, with lots of chances for the pups to play in the water (when we're not in a total drought).
The bike trails at Emma Long are not for the faint of heart, but a thrill for experienced mountain-bike riders nonetheless. Be prepared for drops and any tire problems.
A beautiful off-leash hike , mostly along a creek to keep the dogs cool.
Texas State Parks pass doesn't work here. You have to shell $10 over weekends and $5 in weekdays.
Don't forget that there is a $10 entry fee. But if your a little short they're willing to trade food for admission.
If you park on the side of the road by the nature trail , you could get a hefty ticket...
Oh and a heads up it's 10.00 per car now.
Cool spot!
Water and bbq
Don't drop trow in the woods! Emma Long has bathrooms !
Really bad ants this time! Bit me and my pup. City needs to do something about the big ant piles.
Best disc golf course in central Texas! Bring water and enjoy! - Elizabeth Hall
It's so large that it's usually empty so bring a blanket and spread out. I love to bring coloring books and a lemonade. You're also bound to meet quite a few dogs as they're off leash. - Kyle James
Great side paths for better views once you get to the top - Tim Shin
Incredible views and chilled vibes with great service and food to go with it. Perfect for a late Sunday lunch - Rania
Best lake in Austin, hands down. But also best for boarding and freezing your tush off! - Kinsey Vallier
