I love this tiny place for their Burrito ???? & tacos ???? You can feel the freshness in their food. The road facing table is my favorite spot to seat. I bet you wouldn't go to Chipotle after having this
Big, hearty burritos with satisfying meat fillings and fresh toppings . The tortillas are cooked with corn oil for a more authentic taste. Dos Toros is the indie Chipotle; definitely worth a visit!
Favorite chain burrito ! Not only is the food delicious, it’s perfectly seasoned and not too salty, but they roll one mean burrito which always holds its shape and structure .
The trick is to ask what's best (or, what staff is having) that day. Every burrito is fantastic-but the gems are what new innovation hit today. All salsas/sauces made in house daily.
Dont get - any tacos , quesadillas , chicken , or the super hot sauce . Do get - burritos , platos (burrito bowls ), guac , green hot sauce , w/ steak or pork . Some of the best guac in NYC.
One thing that's often overlooked but crucial is the way a burrito is constructed . The ratio of its ingredients, how they're laid out, and how the burrito is rolled. This place gets it right.
Eat your heart out, Chipotle. The burritos here are far removed from the assembly line fair from Chipotle. Everything, really, is fantastic. They're not playing around with that hot sauce , though.
if you go too strong with the hot sauce prepare yourself for a proper Vision Quest - sweating, hallucinations, deep communion with your spirit animal
1st time here, I had the steak quesadilla & jarritos soda . Enjoyed it both for $12. The quesadilla 's crust was crisp and the steak were juicy pieces. This place gets two thumbs up
The carnitas (pork ) are seared and slow cooked, leaving them juicy and flavorful, with the right amount of salty kick before being wrapped in corn tortilla along with toppings of your choice. Read more
Cults love this taco joint because they say it's "the closest thing to California Mexican in NYC." Fun fact: Dos Toros was started by a previous member of The Morning Benders.
The rice is made with chicken stock , so vegetarians might be tempted to steer clear. Mistake! For $5 you can get a quesadilla stuffed with salsa , guacamole , beans and cheese , and you won't regret it.
Love their quesadillas ; they look like a pressed version of a burrito . Go for steak or pork . Highly recommended!
The Carne Asado taco will knock you over the head with the smoky taste of the meat. Though the guacamole is optional, make sure to pay up because without it your taco will be severely diminished.
The bowl was good. Similar to chipotle except they have crunched up chips to put in the bowl too. Little small but the line moves quick
Always get as much guac as humanly possible. In the burrito , on the side, with chips , etc. You won't regret it!! (Oh yeah, and always order a burrito !)
Burritos !!! Dos Toros offers the best and most convenient burrito in the city ...chipotle has nothing on it!!
Steak is way better than chicken , burritos are way better than tacos , and the hot sauce is seriously amazing.
As a former San Diegan, I'm always looking for a kick of spice and Dos Toros' hot sauce does this and more. The Carne Asada Burrito is my top pick but this monster needs to be shared. —Dara
Lines can get long but they move quick. Carne asada & carnitas all the way!
The anti chipotle/qdoba - this West Coast import definitely makes its mark on the East Coast mexican food world. Juicy meats, fresh tortillas , greatt guacamole , and amazing spicy sauces ! A favorite!
The best Mexican food in New York. I love the vegetarian quesadillas
Killer order: basic quesadilla with vegetables and guacamole . Because the basic comes with rice and beans, it's like a burrito—but the tortilla is grillllled. And even with guac , it costs less.
Wonderfully made tacos and burritos , but go for the bowl whenever possible--best bang for your buck. - http://bit.ly/1nkkOOB
Carnitas burrito . Spicy salsa is actually spicy . Better value than chipotle, slight edge in flavor department too, especially the hot sauce .
I know you want to get that chicken burrito with everything on it. Resist the urge. Get the carnitas tacos with only a dash of pico de gallo and cheese . They're pure, essential, and extraordinary.
Carnitas quesadilla with guac is where it's at. Skip the rice & beans in the burrito , they're just filler anyway.
If your not feeling up for a big burrito , skip the rice and beans and get a quesadilla . It's wrapped up in a tortilla so it looks like a small burrito , but cheaper and less filling. Yummy
One of my favorite Mexican places in NYC. The owners are from the West Coast. Try the basic burrito . Thank me later.
Amazing burritos . I think better than anything in the east village . Only way to be sure is to eat more burritos ...
Afraid you'll have to undo your belt when you're done here? Grab a quesadilla instead of a burrito . All the same tasty fillings yet less filling!
Try the Carne Asada taco here, the tender cubes of rich flap steak are seasoned with a secret spice blend. It's one of NYC's 26 best tacos ! Read more
Carnitas carnitas carnitas . Get it in the bowl. Or if you're craving a burrito , go for the quesadilla . Cheaper and basically the same size.
Everything you've heard is right. This place is phenomenal.Protips: -*fiesta* burrito = w/ both black+pinto beans-Guac's just +$1!-No more than a splash of hot sauce (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
This is the only place that I have found in the city that compares to the California Mexican taste. Go with the carne asada - tacos or burrito...you can't go wrong either way.
real taqueria with just 15 seats, cooks chopping meat and cilantro as you walk in, 2 tacos de carnitas for 7 dollars and a stinging cold can of tecate for 2 bucks and a quarter and a nickel
This place is amazing!!! Best veggie burrito around! As a vegetarian , I am annoyed about the rice having chicken stock in it, but I am willing to break my strict vegetarianism for that! 5 stars!
Easy order for noobs: Plato de carnitas , rice & black beans , cheese , salsa , guacamole , sour cream : Easy win !
Cal Mex has never been better here than at this San Francisco-style burrito joint. The carne asada tacos are one of our faves, bulging with tender marinated steak . Don't forget to spring for the guac
Hierarchy of meats: steak > chicken > pork . Bonus tip: the super hot sauce is best used on the side. They'll apply too liberally if you ask them to add it.
Get the carnitas burrito . This is as close to San Francisco Mex I've been able to get since moving here 11 years ago. This place ain't Chipotle!
Get the real Bay Area burrito experience and ask for it on the grill. Maybe one day they'll have jalapeños .
The carnitas burrito is the best burrito in NYC, making our list of "The Tastes That Make the City : NYC Edition." Read more
Two friends from Berkeley, CA came to NY to bring a true California burrito to a burrito wasteland. Modeled after Gordo’s burritos , it’s impossible to tell the difference. Get the Pollo Asado ! Jeremy
Consistently yummy food. Especially the guacamole !
Amazing falafels , delicious burritos . 100% sure will visit this again next time!
A great alternative to Chipotle or Qdoba. Definitely recommend getting their platos order with chips and guac .
Similar to Chipotle, but has its own twist on the theme. Overall, good burrito and cheap Mexican beer options.
This San Francisco style mexican restaurant really hits the spot with their quesadillas and burritos , but don't get one without their guac , it's the best!
Their meats are natural. Love the chicken burrito bowl with guac. Guac is an extra couple of bucks but worth it IMO. Add the green sauce and squeeze some lemon on it by the condiments. Very filling. - Mimi W
Really great brunch special. Huevos Rancheros are delicious and the blood orange frozen margarita is out if this world. - Amber Van Drie
Amazing pomegranate margaritas and guacamole. Wait staff at bar is the best - Lindsay
Usually pretty busy on big releases but a nice theater non the less - N Martin
Big park! Free Wi-Fi. Perfect for date nights, nice view also. - ImSo_Brooklyn
One of the most amazing places I have been in N.Y.Full of history, incredible ambient and music. - Miss A
