Everything is well executed from start to finish. Typical bistrot - complete menu will cost you 38 euros and will be worth it. Staff is patient and will give good advice and all the guidance you need.

If you go to one old-school bistro in Paris , make it this one. Heart-stopping côte de boeuf isn't your thing? Visit their excellent market-driven sister restaurant down the street (Le 6 Paul Bert).

Underhyped among the pantheon of hip Paris bar a vins naturel. No frills, good selection, good snacks coming out of a one person kitchen and great vibes. Skip the bistro but come here for a bottle.

Ger Muddiman

David Lebovitz: It gets high marks for its wine list and spot-on versions of French bistro food. The steak-frites can only be ordered rare, and the desserts rank up there with the best pâtissieres.

Great bistro experience with well executed classics and a non-touristy vibe. Hungry? Go for the Côte de bœuf (beware they won't cook meat past medium). For dessert , Paris-Brest all the way.

Heather Rodriguez

I had the recommended steak frites and it was just ok. The rabbit and mustard however, was excellent. I would say standard, but solid bistro faire .

Camille Avellan

Le bistrot à la française where you can order typical "brasserie " dishes. Try the "magret de canard fumé maison", the "tartare " or the "blanquette de veau"! Our waiter was cool and got sense of humour

While many bistros look at vegetables a bit askance, Paul Bert knows how to serve up seasonal vegetables right, with fat asparagus gracing the menu in the spring. Read more
