Not only is the operating mill very cool to see but it's very beautiful and scenic as well !
A really cool site. Visit Mount Vernon first and see the grist mill cross-section model, then come visit. You'll appreciate the complexity

Note that none of the buildings are original- they have all been reoroduced. Still cool to see, though.
