Last weekend my friend and I heard a mtn lion roaring (who sounded angry, but then again - have you ever met a happy mtn lion?). We saw deer fleeing from the direction of the sound. Take caution!
Will definitely do this trip again. Great view , great hike , and most of all great experience.
There is street parking , just watch the signs. I hiked the "Murphy Ranch" portion of Rustic Canyon and it was great.
Perfect for biking . Very easy/mild hike . If you are looking for a workout I would run the trail . It's also very scenic and serene.

Take the stairs at the first chain fence for a strenuous hike. Go to the gate entrance for a more casual one. Driveway right to the barn, left to other ruins. - Ryan W
