Built around 1933, these are the stairs leading up and away from the former pro-Nazi compound . Continue up to the empty water tower and further up to get back to Sullivan Fire Road .
The stairs are not for the faint if heart. Be prepared to hold yourself up, there is not hand rail.
Take the stairs at the first chain fence for a strenuous hike . Go to the gate entrance for a more casual one. Driveway right to the barn, left to other ruins.
It's about 500 steep steps down into the canyon.
