Travesseiro is a puff pastry dessert shaped like a pillow , stuffed with a delicious cream made with egg yolks , sugar and love :) to be eaten still warm, with a lovely latte or a nice cup of tea .
One of the most knows pastelarias in sintra. It's always crowded . Try their traditional sweet . Tip: if u keep going up the street and turn right there is their second shop which is less crowded .
We had cafe lattes (Meia de Leite in local language) and they were very good. The pastry they are known for was quite good and the ham and cheese panini was good. The service was great. Prices good.
The Travesseiros are amazing, specially if you can get the ones that are still warm from the oven. The service at the take out part is good
Lonely Planet “Since 1862, Casa Piriquita has baked the famous travesseiros (a light puff pastry with an egg and almond filling shaped like a pillow ) and the bite-size tarts queijadas de Sintra.”
Come here and try all the famous portuguese sweets. The "Travesseiros" made them famous and you can try the traditional one or also with apple/nutella!
Great traditional pastry : Queijada and Travesseiros . If you are lucky they come right at oven and are still warm while eating.
Historic cafe with Sintra specialty pastries : travesseiros ("pillows " filled with almond ) and queijadas (cheese pastries ). Busy but fast and friendly service !
It seems as though every town in Portugal has their own pastry and many are represented at Piriquita. You might as well try a couple and make an appointment and try new ones tomorrow...
great local pastry specialities especially for people with a sweet tooth. run by the family for more than a century.
"Travesseiro", "Queijada" and coffee .
Famous Sintra dessert : Queijada and travesseiros . A bit too sweet for me but still worth trying
excellent cafeteria , everyone should try the traditional sweets . queijadas are unique of a kind.
Famous for its' Travesseiros. Can get crowded on week ends. More pleasant if the weather is good .
Must try the two traditional sweets the Travesseiro and a Queijada
Went to Sintra to visit the castles , stopped here to get the best travesseiros of the city , indeed they are! Highly suggested.
You must have the Queijadas and the Travesseiros and take a few with you when you leave!
Very cheap coffee and excellent traditional deserts .
Traditional deserts are delicious and it is recommended by locals:(
Very basic, crowded , but almond cake was hot and perfect. So-Yummy.
Must try. The pastry shop has more than 100 years.
Travaseiro when warm is dangerously delicious
Don't think, just ask the Travesseiros and enjoy! It's the best pastry you'll ever eat!!
Pastry , hamburger are heaven
Very crowded place offers a lot of local desserts .
Tavesseiros are a must! Don't leave Sintra without eating at least one!
Travesseiro is very delicious in this place, you must try it????????
Hmmmmm travesseirooooo ????????
One of the best pastels in the world
Yummy stop post the garden , get a Queijada and Travesseiro for the road !
it was ♥️ try lemon tea !
If this one is busy, keep walking just a little more and go to their other location.
Don't forget to take a ticket at the entrance !
Totally overrated touristic place. Portugal has so much better sweets without being total characterless sugar bombs e.g. in Lisbon, il corte ingles or places next to jardim do principe real
Tried the 2 famous desserts from this bakery . They were alright.
Get the "cheese " and the "pillow ."
Ask for a "Travesseiro" or a "Queijada", these are the cakes that make this place unique!
Wonderful cakes ! Perfect!! You must try it!
Travesseiros & Queijadas are delicious!
Good pastries , but not spectacular
Travesseririnhos ❤️
Delicious pastries : travesseiros and queijada
Love this...
World famous pastries :)
Very good pastry but no good service .
Famous café in Sintra
Nice pastries , but always too busy......
Tried three of the signature items and just wasn’t impressed. Ok, but mostly just a sugary eggy mess.
Cozy place
Queijada and Travesseiro !

Magical place, really worth the 6 Euros. So much to see and small hidden places. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. - S.M.
Beautiful town with fascinating buildings. My favourite part was the walk from town up to the moorish castle. - Grainne Regan
We went with low expectations but it surpassed the all, beautiful place, fantastic view! Fomos com a expectativa baixa e fomos surpreendidos, lugar lindo, vista mais linda ainda!! Vale a pena - Romeu Junior
