정면 5칸, 측면 2칸의 다포계형식(多包系形式)의 우진각지붕건물로 보물 제1호이다. 일명 동대문(東大門)이라고도 하는데, 서울 도성의 동쪽에 있기 때문에 붙여진 이름이다. 1397년(태조 5년) 도성을 쌓을 때 함께 짓기 시작하여 이듬해에 세워졌다. 1452년(단종 1년)에 중수가 있었으며, 조선 말기까지 존속되어 오다가 1869년(고종 6년)에 이르러 전반적인 개축이 이루어져 오늘에 이르고 있다.

A historical heritage
흥인지문은 성곽 8개의 문 가운데 동쪽에 있는 문이다. 흔히 동대문이라고도 부르는데, 조선 태조 7년(1398)에 완성하였다가 단종 원년(1453)에 고쳐 지었고, 지금 있는 문은 고종 6년(1869)에 새로 지은 것이다.
동대문이라불리는 핫플레이스지만 왠지 관리가 소홀한 느낌.밤과 낮의 느낌이 다르다.
이곳 주변도 에베레스트를 포함해서 저렴한 맛집이 많습니다.

ここは、撮影NGでした。観光 客はあまりおらず、お参りに来ている人がほとんどでしたので、その人達の迷惑にならないように、見学 させていただきました。
以前は車道に囲まれていましたが東の石垣側が遊歩道 になったみたいですね
관광객 입장에서 이미 남대문을 방문했다면 굳이 또 동대문만을 보러 올 필요는 없다고 생각.
날 풀리면 노숙자분들이 많아서 해지고는 무서워요

흔히 동대문이라고 부르는게 이 흥인지문이지요. 주변지명이나 지하철역등도 전부 흥인지문으로 바꿔야하지 않을까요?
