As one of the largest conservatories in the nation occupying 4.5 acres, the facility was designed by renowned landscape architect Jens Jensen. Thousands of plant species are on display throughout its eight rooms and magnificent outdoor floral gardens.

This is an unexpected oasis so close to the highway and public transit. It is worth a visit for a stroll, especially because it's free and there's free parking in their lot.
This is a great Chicago Winter destination. You can take a beautiful stroll through the gardens and give your lungs a much needed spa treatment of warm fragrant moist air.

An absolutely beautiful indoor conservatory, and free entry , what more could you ask for? Nice and quiet when we visited too. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Always free, this facility is an amazing oasis in the city , especially on cold winter days. Their seasonal displays are amazing and the fern room is a child's dream. The kids garden is underwhelming.
Entrance is free but a donation is asked at times. Either way, it's a great place to go -- indoors and out-- to take in some beautiful and exotic plant life . I love this place in the winter!

Wonderful outing for a rainy day! Or any day. My baby was fascinated by all the plants and flowers . Very convenient via Green Line train .
