Nice sand, very soft, not a lot of shells or rocks. The red tide can be pretty gross but just walk the beach and find the clear spot and follow it if you like.

If you get bored, the Cliff Walk is basically beckoning you to take a quick hike up to the front lawn of the Breakers.

The red tide at First Beach makes it almost unbearable to swim at. There are much better beaches in the area!
