Breakfast tacos are delicious! With a side of fruit it's a great way to start the day. Filling and inexpensive . Didn't have a pastry but WOW did they look good!! Super cute inside and out for seating.
The quiche is really tasty and a hearty helping. They don't always seem to have it, but if they do, it's worth trying.
I love the pastries , we always like to have a few while drinking Guenther House coffee and waiting for our food to arrive. Everything is wonderful, but I cannot resist the breakfast tacos .
Our server Gabi, was fabulous. Glad we went early as the restaurant filled up; make reservations if you can. Food is outstanding. Their hm blend coffee was so good, we bought more in their store.
The strawberries and cream waffles were really good. Their house coffee is also delicious. Patio seating and indoor seating available (a little confusing where to go for the hostess though).
Nice place. The breakfast its over rated. Seems to me like a regular plate (I ordered the Pioneer 's Plate). However, the coffee , the staff , the place it is what makes it a lovely place.
Guenther House ... amazing place with amazing architecture , history, vibes & delicious food ... this will definitely turn into one of my favorites! ????????
Excellent biscuits and gravy ! Asked for a side of fruit and got more than I bargained for, but it was all very good!
Excellent for breakfast and lunch . Great pastries . I ordered biscuits and gravy . Was stuffed! Great service. May have to wait in line@to@get a table
This is a great place for breakfast . I had the Biscuits & Gravy and a Black Cherry Strudel and they were amazing.
the strawberry waffles taste like the most breathtaking beautiful human being you've ever laid your eyes on, on planet earth...now jst bask in the ambiance of your complete cluelessness.
Sitting outside is so Southern reminding me of my grandparents home in Corpus Christi!! Ask for honey for your coffee and you get it in a little ceramic pitcher . Yea!
The biscuits and gravy are tasty, fluffy and huge. If you get here early enough in the morning you have a vegetarian gravy option.
Amazing history here. This place is absolutely charming during the spring. Free coffee and water at the front of the house. Try the chicken breast sandwich with avacado , it's amazing!!!
Beautiful place of local historic significance. Which is why I'm mesmerized by the no fewer than 8 flies buzzing around our table right now - inside.
Omg the biscuits and gravy are amazing! So is the strawberry waffle with pecan syrup ! Everything we ate was delicious and so so worth it!
Classic breakfast fare . You can get plain potato or bean tacos if you're vegan . Their coffee is delicious too though no soymilk.
The Pioneer pancake platter with applewood smoked bacon is pure deliciousness ????
Visit the gift shop while you wait for a table, but don't leave without thumbing through the guestbook, a collection of inspired fake celebrity signatures and emails.
Just a short walk from downtown along the beautiful San Antonio River . Come early to enjoy outdoor seating before the Texas heat catches up to you.
Just think about the sexiest person your imagination is able to fathom. This waffle is that gorgeous individual. Bask in the experience.
Get the Pioneer Platter. All of your breakfast favorites. And come hungry!
Excellent as always. Pastries to die for. Quiche Lorraine one of today's specials was fantastic.
Inside is still as good as outside! Also anyone who has a sweet tooth will LOVE the strawberry waffles !
Halloween and valentines I've noticed have a different menu, and the prices go up $1.00 and some items you can't customize on these more expensive holiday menus as I do regularly every Sunday .
Pancakes and waffles are the best! Whit excellence service and food quality.
I love take my breakfast here! The place it's perfect for a Sunday with the family!
Nice place. Pancakes best opcion.
Do yourself a favor... The sweet cream waffle is the best I've ever ever had.
Sweets--sticky pecan rolls and cinnamon buns . Savory--anything with applewood smoked bacon !
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I love that it's right on the river . :-)

Pancakes and waffles are the best in a beautiful place
amazing little place for eats, historical and all! BUT the flies are out of control......
Come early for breakfast or late for lunch to avoid the wait. But the grounds and free coffee make a wait more pleasant than usual.
Don't think that the specials are the only option for your pancakes our waffles . You can get then with any of the toppings.
Get here early because there can be long waits to eat. Also, check out the gift shop upstairs.
This place is for sure worth it!
It USED TO BE awesome, NOT anymore.
The unsweetened Republic of Tea raspberry tea is a smooth accompaniment to any dish on the menu here.
The breakfast potatoes are to die for. Wish I could pinpoint what they're seasoned with.
Try the Jalapeño preserve and check out the store upstairs too.
Waffles are great-- biscuits n gravy are a favorite
Early bird gets the biscuit . Avoid the wait by arriving no later than 8 am.
Favorite place for breakfast . The Pioneer Breakfast was wonderful!
The food and service are very good. Weather permitting, eat outside as the acoustics inside are terrible and the noise level is loud .
The wait is horrendous, but WORTH IT! You can never go wrong with the waffles either.
Expect to wait an hr or more but it is well worth it!
Biscuits and gravy are the best I have ever had!!!!!
Chicken and waffles . Do it.
