The Harvard Museum of Natural History is the public face of 3 research museums , including the Museum of Comparative Zoology, the Harvard University Herbaria, & the Mineralogical and Geological Museum .

Old-school natural history museum . Well put together for its type. Don't miss the glass flowers . Rocks are surprisingly cool and pretty, too.

They have an excellent collection of botanical cross sections made of glass and they are indistinguishable from the real things. Quite a marvel of glass making and botany, circa 1850s.

You must see the glass flowers before you die! Also the mineral collection is amazing. Taxidermy also very cool. And don't miss 3 floors of Native American exhibits next door included with admission!

Spent a good amount of time. The fossil collection is awesome as well as the rocks and crystals. The glass flowers were spectacular too!

I love the Victorian exhibits at this museum . Don't miss the great gallery at thend where the whole of evolution is packed into one tiny space. Great gift shop too!! Check out their Xmas ornaments

A spectacular museum of its type; the handmade glass flowers are worth the trip alone and the rest is wonderful, too.

Be sure to venture deep into the museum to explore the new & amazing New England Forests gallery , the restored Great Mammal Hall and currently to be able to observe restoration of the towering giraffe

Head straight to the Romer Hall of Vertebrate Paleontology room and see the most complete skeleton of a Kronosaurus on display in the world!

If you're in the Harvard/Cambridge area you should pop by. Doesn't take long but it's very informative and interesting.

Harvard students might get in for free, but your Terrier Card can save you $2 off admission. Admission is also free for MA residents Sundays 9 a.m. to noon.

Last year I tried to run in and use the restroom : they wanted me to pay admission! I have heard good things about the exhibits and decided to return today despite the rigidity of some of their staff .

They have a surprising collection of gems and the mammals room is amazing!

Check the museum website for free evening lectures by scientists and authors. And the museum is also free to Mass. residents on Weds. afternoons, 3-5 pm during the school year.

Awesome place. Great place for kids and adults both. Plan on spending a long time here!

The glass flowers are amazing!

Sunday a.m. free for Mass. residents - bring ID & REMIND them or they charge. Victorian-style, glass case maze with dead things. Not very interactive. Boston Museum of Science is much more fun.

I like the animals the best. Check out mouse rat .
