Old & busy place, yet not enough worth to visit it - the waiters are brusque, food is ordinary, atmosphere nervous. If you want to relax and enjoy genuine roman food, better pass by.
A typical Italian restaurant for enthusiastic tourists . Smells so bad due to same fried olive oil all day long without replacement. Waiters treat you quite rude. Never book again. A big disappoinment.
Frst opened its doors in 1906. Its spaghetti alla carbonara is a must-try, but other pleasing dishes are served from gnocchi and scaloppine to more adventurous coda alla vaccinara and tripe .
Pasta was pretty good, but honestly we had more fun with the bartender creating some amazing drinks before dinner - and treating us to a variety of amari after dinner !
Such an authentic restaurant . Good carbonara , loved the amatriciana the most though!
their "notripadvisor" sign is a part of marketing because we were mainly among tourists . The owner (or manager) was no nice at all (we came 10 min early and asked for wifi password and were refused)
We had carbonara and it was good but we had definitely better. It is authentic atmosphere, we would say not very friendly for tourist . But we get it... many tourist means no authentic atmosphere :)
Lovely restaurant with some basic, but very delicious, dishes. We especially appreciated the enthusiasm of the waiters ????
Great Roman food! Cacio and pepe is excellent. Extraordinary value for money .
Best carbonara ! Also amazing Ox Tail with such a good tomato sauce . Make reservations or you will get turned away.
Great pasta . Nice place. Book a table in advance.
amazing pasta , friendly atmosphere , no turists! love it here ????
It was unfortunately disappointing for me. I had high hopes for the carbonara and what was served made me feel cheated. There was only a sliver of bacon and the pasta wasn't all al dente .
Good food and service, didnt feel obviously like a tourist trap. Fettuccine was hand made but a little too thick, great flavours though. Try the Nebbiolo wine
Excellent choice! Try the spaghetti carbonara and the fillets with rucula . Also look for the Nero D'Avila wine . Best meal in Italy until now!
Great place! And its name says it all . You must get Carbonara Pasta . And remember to make a reservation .
The best Carbonara ever, my favorite meal after a couple of days in Italy. Must go!
Best pasta place, fairly cheap , many choices. The only con is that the menu is only in Italian
authentic mood great pasta ! honest price frequented by locals. would go back for sure!!
Good food compared to other italian restaurants but far away from usual European standarts I'm used too.seems just that's how they serve in Italy. No English menu but staff helps with translations
Lively place . Great food. Polite and helpful staff . Value for money is incredible.
Was sceptic at first since honestly some of the high rated places here simply suck (panella service), but am a believer now. The pasta sauce was so incredible i still can't stop thinking of it.
Good food, worth trying to get a table. Pasta is very al dente . Staff seemed friendly enough. Very busy.
the best carbonara i've eaten <3 the steak was also very delicious.
The meat, the Ssalad, the atmosphere, the location, the price were awesome!!
Great won't, pasta and dessert ! Try the carbonara and chocolate orange muffin !
One of the best typical italian restaurant in Rome...but not only good food, choose Matteo's Cocktails ...he's a genius!
The food were good and cheap . Do not forget to book your table.
Was worth the wait. Staff were friendly .
Reserve table. Don’t just show up. The only reason we were able to book the table is because I went in at lunch time to see if that had any openings for dinner . Not worth the hype.
Omg fresh pasta was delicious , even the ox tail was yummy.
Great food great staff and really good prices......this place is so worth a visit
Order a Negroni and Trust the Bartender .
Strongly recommend this place. Their carbonara is by far the best i ve ever had.
Make a reservation days in advance. The pasta is delicious.
Definitely make a reservation , and don't mind the somewhat hipster attitude. All in all, great food and our server was great. Fresh pasta is a must!
Fantastic spaghetti with pistachio and cherry tomato pesto .
Amazing pasta . The carbonara is incredible.
If they'd serve pasta carbonara in heaven, it would be this one
The worst ox tail Spaghetti : single bone with no meat..
Known for a great pasta , but honestly for me it was too salty (above Italian average saltiness). Maybe if you are just an average American tourist , ask for less salt!
Great pasta , nice and friendly place!
La carbonara pasta and the desserts
Grilled lambs sweet bread . Highly recommended :)
The best pasta I have ever had!
Amazing spaghetti w/ anchovies , brain, and bone marrow . But get something better than il vino della casa...
Spaghetti Carbonara is a must!
Carbonara and tiramisu . Do it!!!
If in Roma do not miss. Extremely polite and helpful service . Homemade pasta . Excellent wine selection . Do not miss. Traditional Italian experience. Since 1906..
The carbonara was good (7€). Reasonable price. Good value .18€ for 2 people with water and service charge. If you stay close you that area must try it.
Pleasant outdoor seating on the streets of Monti with delicious dinner options. - Ryan Bright
Great taverna! Apart from the ravioli mimosa, try the fillet with green pepper. - Aris P
The 'Buffalo' burger (with grilled cheese) is one of the best i've ever tried. - Yourik
Amazing and awesome. A must in Rome. But every time it is very crowded especially on Sunday's. - Yasin Candemir
Most amazing and beautiful fountain! A must see of rome. The size is impressive. Newly remodeled. Always a crowd around is the only negative. - Sofia Cabrita
Favorite church I visited in Rome. It's so massive and stunning, really breathtaking. Make sure you visit it. - Zineta Emini
