Dim sum is unreal. Ideal meal is crab and pork soup dumplings , Katz pastrami egg roll , BBQ pork belly , and pan fried spicy pork buns . You'll pay twice the price of Chinatown and it'll be worth it.
Unlike most dim sum places, this spot does its biggest business at night. The Katz's Pastrami Egg Rolls are incredible, and the Pac Mac Dumplings are great too - they even put little eyeballs on them!
Peep the 5 seat bar for a free spot before you put your name down, you might just luck into a 0 minute wait. Once there, get the pan-fried pork buns with spicy sauce , they are phenomenal!
Orderer off uber eats, ok. Scallion pan was too thick, shrimp corn and truffle was good. Pork and crab soup dumplings were great. Mango salad was good. Crispy duck and crab was too much going on.
Ask for the spicy Siracha like sauce on the side for rice and noodle dishes , elevates a safe, but delicious dish into something more exciting. Steak tartlets are fantastic, as are the dim sum options
The roast duck noodles here are absolutely amazing, especially the roast duck which may be the best I’ve had this side of the Pacific Ocean.
Can’t go wrong with any of the dumplings , pork lettuce wraps , or string beans . Duck & ginger fried rice was very bland. While you wait for your table, enjoy a cocktail at Decoy downstairs.
Growing up in HK, I like my dim sum traditional, and am suspicious of anything fusion. But the food here was creative and delicious. Wonderful easter family brunch . Definitely coming back!
RedFarm serves modern and innovative Chinese cuisine in a trendy and rustic decor . They only accept reservations for groups of 8 or more, so get there before 7pm if you want to avoid a long wait . Read more
At Ed Schoenfeld and Joe Ng’s lively New Yorkified Chinese spot, Red Farm , crisp-fried lamb dumplings are concocted in a wood-beamed urban farm setting. There’s a lot to like about this fresh remix.
The pastrami egg rolls were an amazing fusion. The fried rice is on point, although not keen on the addition of corn . Skip the oysters - they are the size of a quarter. Dumplings are deeeeelish.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city . Must get the Katz egg roll and you can order the duck from downstairs :) ask for it ahead of time
One of the best restaurants in NYC. Delicious food .. Crispy beef , yuzu wasabi shrimp , mango&arugula salad , prime rib steak were all amazing! You must also try the key lime pie for dessert
Love love love this place! Tables are tiny and it’s very cozy . Our waiter Steve was very friendly and kind. Service was really good. The food is AMAZING.
The paper-thin wrappers and flavorful broth make the pork and crab soup dumplings more than worth the price. (You may just have to make do with four instead of 20.) Read more
"The Shanghai soup dumplings have a thin skin yielding to a burst of rich, deeply satisfying, umami-punched broth, then to the sweet and earthy, fine-textured pork and crab meat ." Chef Anita Lo Read more
Had a really enjoyable impromptu dinner late on Sunday night. Excellent recommendations for well balanced meal from our friendly waitress . We were last to leave but didn't feel rushed. Feichung hao!
Try everything. In order 1) pastrami egg rolls 2) filet bites 3) crab dumplings 4) soup dumplings . Skip mains and make it tapas style . Oh, and Ruth makes a killer Japanese style old fashion
Wow that pastrami egg roll really is tasty: the mustard sauce was flavorful but not overly so. Steak was perfectly done and the waiter was super nice and paired with a great red wine for me.
Great dim sum style food in the West village . Be sure to try the soup dumplings , crispy spicy beef , and Katz pastrami egg roll . And the peach sangria special of the night was bangin
Call ahead, get a text 5 minutes before table is ready. Ideal order: pastrami egg rolls , 5-spice chix, kobe tarts , sea bass , bacon fried rice . Get the ginger cocktail , avoid the sangria .
Try the rib eye . The luscious beef gets an overnight bath in soy and an expert sear to tease out its umami richness. It’s one of our #100best dishes and drinks of 2011. Read more
check in 75 mins b4 you want to eat, go elsewhere for a drink, then listen to the waitress & order 1-2 things from every section. Stay until after the knicks play & watch Jay-Z and Beyonce walk in :)
Great cozy Chinese restaurant in west village . Large communal table . Dim sum & dumplings-try the pac man shrimp dumplings
Our favorites: crab and duck dumplings , dried scallop and Chinese sausage fried rice , and three chili chicken . The place is awesome and the people are great. They are also quite proud of their toilet .

The space is crowded but very lively . It might get loud , but the food display and flavor are amazing.
This place is the modern interpretation of Chinese cuisine . Try various dumplings . They are yummy and looking cute . Get the duck !
Worth the wait. Everything on the menu is amazing. Spicy Crispy Beef is top fav. White horse tavern and Turks & frogs are close by for before dinner drinks.
Crispy beef and soup dumplings live up to the hype - they are awesome. Cocktails are very good as well and a short but affordable wine list.
Get there early and expect to wait - but it's with it. Get veg fried rice , crabmeat noodles , mushroom or lobster dumplings , three chili chicken , chocolate pudding
The soup dumplings are amazing and the dishes are very creative! Love the pac man dim sum idea!
Everything is awesome. 'pac man' dumplings , sautéed pea leaves, soft crunchy fried rice , chicken salad , jumbo shrimp and pumpkin in lobster sauce , crispy beef . Just order the whole menu.
Feel like you’re having a picnic in a (very charming) barn and definitely try the Pac Man Dumplings + Filet Mignon Tarts . Read more
Everything is amazing! Pastrami egg rolls FTW!
Fresh greenmarket sensibility meets modern Chinese, mixed with rustic decor . Chef Joe Ng offers enticing items such as marinated rib steak with steamed baby bok choy and spicy steamed sea bass .
Dumplings are terrific, thai curry clams and mussels , great vegetarian options . Food is fresh and well prepared without excess salt or sauce.
A cheffy, well-done take on Chinese-American classics; don't miss the dumplings , particularly the excellent xiao long bao .
NYC Foodie Reco'd: spring rolls , beef tart , Kumamoto oysters w/ Meyer Lemon-Yuzu, 'Pac Man' shrimp dumplings , chicken salad , rib steak with bokchoy, clay pot chicken , & okra and thai eggplant salad
It may not be authentic , but it's delicious enough that you won't care. Any dumpling is a good choice, as is the shrimp-fried chicken .
no reservations , and the experience is so much better with more people! Stick with ordering a bunch of small plates , and damn that Pastrami Egg Roll is a gift from the heavens!
"Dungeness crab nestles in noodles and egg rolls are busting with Katz’s Delicatessen pastrami . Inspired house cocktails include an oolong tea martini spiked with Assam spices."
Dumplings of course, the shrimp and snow pea leaf were simple and delicious. Try the three chilli chicken too
Get the crispy crab claw dumplings . Nice airy place; seems more Japanese than Chinese. Skip the Bloody Mary .
go to the speakeasy decoy downstairs. order the le club hot cocktail .
One of the rare restaurants in NYC that leaves me a great culinary memory. Food is delicious. Try the ribeye steak , pork buns and crispy beef .
Sceney West Village joint, where dumpling wizard Joe Ng turns out whimsical riffs on the classics. While not to everyone’s taste, the playful Katz’s pastrami egg roll is a novelty worth trying.
Most items are amazing but there's one absolute must: GET THE RIBEYE! don't let the price throw u off, it's literally melt worthy deliciousness that beats Peter Luger by 10x! & I never leave food tips
Really good food. The crab and pork dumplings are delicious, as well as the prime rib , pastrami rolls and salad !
Multiple orders of excellent soup dumplings. Duck rivaled only by that which I’ve had in Beijing. - Eric Jaffe
Taker orders until 10:45pm, Chinese Tuxedo serves honey-drenched chicken liver, as well as the duck salad with lychees. It’s unquestionably one of the most expertly cooked birds in town. - Eater
