Nice old pub associated with Karl Marx, Charles Dickens & poet Dryden who was killed outside by a mob. Great real ale .
One of the oldest pub in London, it goes back to 1623! If you would like to see traditional British pub and large section of ale come and enjoy here! There is an upstairs bar which you can dine also!
Amazing place... It is very ancient English pub founded in 1623... You can find a large menu for ales in the pub . There is even a restaurant uptairs. Now Marcus enjoys his Guiness ... ;) cheers
On the second floor there's an authentic and very cozy restaurant . The prices are a little on the expensive side, but worth it - Steak & Ale pie is amazing! Guinness is better than in other pubs , too.
Curry & malt vinegar with fish & chips . It’s a personal preference, really. And many just enjoy curry or malt vinegar on their chips alone. Pub offers these options. How do u like yours?
Marinated steak & ale pie (£18.50). Meat filling was very aromatic, juicy & packed with flavours. Another favourite discovered
One of the best traditional British pubs in the city . Grab your ale and drink outside while socializing with the locals.
Dining upstairs (Dryden Room). The difference dining at the ground floor (if u can find a tabletop) is not having to pay service charge (12.5%). Same full menu; order at the bar & food will be served
Really nice fish and chips . Swim up stream through the river of after work drinkers and head upstairs for chow.
The best & classical fish and chips , classical English pub environment. A must in London. Reservation needed.
Good if you want to go for a Fuller 's pint after work. Nice and very authentic pub downstairs and a nice, small restaurant upstairs with great Sunday roasts .
Simply a great pub . A proper boozer in a great area. I believe C. Dickens used to drink there and J. Dryden was stabbed in the alley way next to it. Grimy and hidden, like good pub should be!
Especially when the weather is nice, perfect place to grab a pint off the beaten path near Leicester.
Sticky date pudding was memorable! Dining group of 4 agreed the sauce was very aromatic 👍🏼
Fish & chips . Enjoyed the battered haddock . Very flavourful. Would order again
Great old fashioned vibe pub tucked away off the main streets. Playing dance tunes which wasn’t so fitting but good beer selection .
5 December: Thought to be the oldest pub in Covent Garden , the Lamb & Flag dates back to at least 1623. Poet John Dryden was mugged in the alleyway outside & the upstairs bar is named after him.
Nice little pub close to covent garden . Has a really cozy atmosphere
One of the best pubs I've been to in London. Very old school. If it's packed downstairs, you'll prob find seats upstairs.
Access is via Garrick Street. When we visited, Rose St was closed off with rubbish bins at the Floral St end
A Fuller 's pub so nothing brilliant, but our sausage and mash & chicken Caesar salad both competent. Try the ESB. Easy and nutty.
A super busy pub with a good atmosphere. Came for a drink on the way to Covent Garden . One of my favorite pubs in London.
There are 2 booths at the back of the bar , that can fit 4 people comfortably
One of the most authentic pubs in Covent Garden . Great menu and good for rugby fans.
Fish and chips is tasty and big portion . Ask for more choices of beer to the waitress . Nice place
Founded in 1623!!! Enter through the alley, grab a pint and make new friends.
One of London's oldest pubs , and certainly one of Covent Garden 's most charming. The food is also good.
Owned by Fullers so don't expect exciting beer but a lovely building and a nice atmosphere. Might well be good for food.
International offerings of draught beers
Water is available at the bar counter. Self-service
If you need to sit to use the loo bring an scuba tank. Smaller than an airplane loo and sealed tighter than a submarine. Must be an anorexic contortionist to have a seat.
Traditional old bar offering wide range of local beers , do not miss if you are around
You know, any old pub 's a good pub in London pretty much. This one's no exception.
Taps on the ground floor have a better selection of beer . Cozy seating upstairs.
One of the oldest pubs in London. Good outside space . Gets busy though
Very kind folks. Enjoyed drinking the London Pride and loved fish&chips
I thought the food was quite average. The meat was dry and hard, the potatoes not crispy and the veggies quite plain… the location and decor was nice though
This is a real pub . Get your pint and stand outside in the alley during the summer.
Very nice place..the food is very good and not expensive .. Try it!
The Fuller ESB is just great, and so is the place
Great, old pub . Could lose hours watching the world. Magical pub !
Kristiana upstairs - great service with a smile.
Historic English pub with a decent beer selection and ok food. Come here more for the ambiance than anything else.
Classic London pub hidden away in Covent Garden
A "Real Pub " in the heart of London's West End
The staff had no clue about their ales . Went there to feel the local atmosphere, disappointed. For tourists I'd recommend to plan a pub crawl and stopby this place for 1 pint only and pass to others.
Friendly staff , nice food, value for money .
Good space outside to stand away from the crowds if the weather is good
Fish and chips 9/10
Grab a seat if you can
Good atmosphere. Excellent selection of quality Samuel Smith beer. - Marcel Guibout
Nice little tavern downstairs great food upstairs. Hidden away bit worth finding! - James Brewer
Look for the performers in nautical. they have great quality. Also look for small corner cookies seller and taste hot cokkies with marsmellowed hot chocolate! - Y P
Nice pub. Timothy Tailor Landlord sits as part of a good ale selection. Friendly and always speedy service, even when quite busy. - Rich Whiteley
