Dim sum starts at 11:30 on Sundays - get there at 11 if you want a table. The food was awesome but they had some issues getting it out of the kitchen. Try the Brussels sprouts and Bloody Mary !
The best croissants in DC! As buttery as they are supposed to be. Even better than many places in Paris...(trust a French guy who bake his own bread !) ???? The moccha buns are great too!
You cannot go wrong here. Our table was next to kitchen in the back (recommended) and everything was super delicious. Fried chicken is a must! They have solid cocktails .
The Painted Hills Ribeye Bao Platter is a amazing dish! Free-range ribeye cooked to perfection, steamed buns , & local vegetables .
Everything is good. Do not miss the Gua Bao with red pork , the shrimp dumplings and the lo mein . Also the chocolate cake with matcha and hazelnut ice cream is a must.
Don't leave without ordering the Taiwanese Fried Chicken and Bread made with organic chicken , five spice caramel , & housemade bread loaf.
It’s like a little bit of Tokyo landed on H Street . Browse the shop while you wait for your table, or just grab a cup of coffee made from house-roasted beans on the second floor. Read more
A nice retail space with a coffee shop nested in the back of the top floor and great food hidden in the back of the first floor. Probably the most brooklyn shop in dc. Worth a visit for sure.
It deserves 11/10! Food is great! No it is even better! Fresh! Delicious! Njam njam ! We have tried Noodles with mushrooms , Grilled broccoli , vegge dumplings and mochi desert ! Loved it! Must try!
For the heat-seekers out there, get the Spicy Laab over Bone Marrow consisting of mixed herbs, ground pork , chilis, & beef bone.
Words can hardly describe how good my experience was here. Sit at the chef 's counter. Get the whole fish and marrow . Savor in victory and relish in the flawless fusion of two great Asian cuisines .
The crispy gruyere dumplings with spicy braised beef and mustard greens are a great starter for the table.
Dessert here was delicious! I definitely recommend trying various things and sharing plates with a friend.
Everyone talks about the Fried Chicken , but having been 3 times now, it was one of my least favorite dishes I tried. Don't get me wrong, it's delicious, but being adventurous rewards you even more!
Taiwanese Braised Pork Belly just melts in your mouth! Soy-braised Berkshire pork belly w/ fermented mustard greens .
Don't leave without checking out the vending machine outside on the second floor. There is a refill on the drip coffee .
One of few places to het a syphon coffee in DC, delicious meat buns .
Try the Bao 's you will like them. The Maketto Chicken is very good. Ask them to go light on the house sauce it is sweet.
Everything is solid, especially the eggplant spread (ask for extra bread ), whole fish , lamb noodles ???? ???? Hipster vibe set in a clothing store . Public transit here is nil
Maketto fried chicken was amazing! The skin has the tongue-tingling spiciness of Sichuan peppercorns , which I love. Cambodian ground pork curry was great too.
Awesome restaurant and concept! Erik Bruner-Yang is a DC treasure. You have to go here, you will not regret it!
Stuff from the rooftop bar next door (5-6 floors up) sometimes gets knocked over and falls into the outdoor courtyard part. A falling ashtray almost cracked my head open. Lawsuit waiting to happen????????
Super cool spot. Multi-faceted - food, clothes , drinks
What a unique place! It's a clothes store in front, restaurant in back. The food is incredibly well prepared and combines interesting flavors. The leek buns were my favorite!
Great third wave coffee shop in a sweet space! Large tables, outside area, Asian restaurant , and 2 bars ! this place is the pinnacle of H street .
Maketto is a hipster Mecca but the Vietnamese and Cambodian influenced dim sum boasts a dynamite char bao bun and the best fried chicken we had all year.
Pork Steamed Bao with seasoned hoisin is a must!
Upstairs cafe offers great coffee , as well as a place to chill and get some work done. Try the ham and scallion biscuit for breakfast .
La Ferla Nero d'Avalo and the Taiwanese Fried Chicken (and bread ) were my post yoga delight. Perfectly imperfect.
For two people, they recommend two small plates and one large one. Or four small plates .
Bai buns , the steamed fish , prawn dumplings all divine. Great value imo too.
Really cool spot that’s a cross between retail , a cafe , a restaurant , and a bar .
Coffee . Buns . Great dinner . But if you're just stopping by, simply enjoy the space and those friggin' addictive Chinese Doughnuts
Obnoxiously long waits . The fish , the bao , the Taiwanese chicken and the sausage are the best options hands down. Avoid the scallion pancakes .
Must get the maketto fried chicken ! It's a big portion so share!
Flat white is quite good here and the place is awesome!
great Asian food . Cauliflower was dope and the lamb noodles totally addictive!
Beats is sick, flatwhite on point and boutique has great curation {what's that jacket , margiela?} Food was good but nothing that special
Great space , great food, great staff . Highly recommend !
Get the pork bao , the lo mein , and the wok-fried noodles . Cocktails are good too.
Cozy place to meet a friend for coffee of ramen ! I love their chai lattes
Very, very hard to describe Maketto. Come in for a nice pair of shoes and a great cup of coffee .
Great design, one of the nicest places to sit outside and really good coffee
Great food: the whole fish wins. The fried noodles were my favorite though!
Fried chicken is overwhelmingly breaded . Suggest the fish as a superior alternative
Second floor has great coffee and an even better environment for getting stuff done.
love the atmosphere and one of a kind items to buy.
Excellent coffee and amazing fried chicken ! ???? ????
The Chaplin A.S.S. and Spicy Miso are delicious. One of the best ramen spots in DC - Elaine Joseph
everything is great, but the crispy rice and coconut curry are incredible - arish
These pies are a meal and a half. Come hungry, leave happy. It's also a nice place to work with free Wi-Fi when it's not crowded, so not weekends. WiFi password: bytheslice - X
Dumplings are seared on one side and amazing! Fun cocktails with a very good bartender. - Nicole Stahlecker
Incredible selection of any cuisine available. Such a fun space with so many vendors and places to relax, eat, and socialize. - Valerie S
