Atop Goat Rock , you can feel as if you are on top of the world. The top of Goat Rock has a few cupped “chairs” shaped by wind-driven rain over thousands of years. 1 of the best sites for a trail lunch
Definitely off the beaten path compared to most hikes in South Bay , the only downside is the limited parking which is either $5/car if you park inside the gate or first-come/first-serve street parking
Loved it! Prepare for a lovely overdose of green in April. Note that the trail going to the rocks is closed from late January to late July to allow bird reproduction.
This is a great hike ! These rocks makes for great sights and the air is so fresh.
Very nice, lonesome trails through moss-covered oak groves and the occasional spectacular vista.

Park on Skyline just outside the entrance. No fee. Walk in. Weekends get busy with the rock climbing crowd, so get here early.
Really awesome view from Goat rock . It's too dusty in a normal sunny day. No water fountain also, so do carry bottled water.
80% of the Saratoga Gap Trail has shades, and it brings you to pretty amazing views .
The views on Saratoga-Gap trail are amazing as you follow the ridge line . Warning, can get rather hot!

Bring bug spray during the spring and summer months if you're a goldmine for mosquitos.
Make sure to pay for parking . The attendants don't make you or ask but you will get a ticket.

Pack lots of water. There is no drinking fountain at the parking lot and no water source on the trail .
Get here early or you're screwed for parking .
