Sensational hikes to a waterfall , along the base of honey-combed sandstone, to a trail camp, the headwaters of the San Lorenzo River , and the best launch point for the 34-mile Skyline-to-the-Sea Trail

Trail camp: Requires an easy 2.8-mile hike ; $15 per night, $8 per extra vehicle, open year-round; first-come, first-served. Use the self-registration system at the parking lot . Up to 6 people per site

Atop Goat Rock , you can feel as if you are on top of the world. The top of Goat Rock has a few cupped “chairs” shaped by wind-driven rain over thousands of years. 1 of the best sites for a trail lunch

Jesse Johnston

Definitely off the beaten path compared to most hikes in South Bay , the only downside is the limited parking which is either $5/car if you park inside the gate or first-come/first-serve street parking

Cécile

Loved it! Prepare for a lovely overdose of green in April. Note that the trail going to the rocks is closed from late January to late July to allow bird reproduction.

Jordan Staniscia

This is a great hike ! These rocks makes for great sights and the air is so fresh.

Tobias Schmidt

Very nice, lonesome trails through moss-covered oak groves and the occasional spectacular vista.

A great place to hike .

Park on Skyline just outside the entrance. No fee. Walk in. Weekends get busy with the rock climbing crowd, so get here early.

Hai Li

Really awesome view from Goat rock . It's too dusty in a normal sunny day. No water fountain also, so do carry bottled water.

Kat 🐱

80% of the Saratoga Gap Trail has shades, and it brings you to pretty amazing views .

Cristina B.

The views on Saratoga-Gap trail are amazing as you follow the ridge line . Warning, can get rather hot!

Bruce Cryer

The views are awesome, now get out of your car and hike around!

Bring bug spray during the spring and summer months if you're a goldmine for mosquitos.

Vansi

Make sure to pay for parking . The attendants don't make you or ask but you will get a ticket.

Pack lots of water. There is no drinking fountain at the parking lot and no water source on the trail .
