Get the Timatim Fitfit (tomatoes w/ onion + peppers ) as an app—fresh and spicy . Veggie combo beats meat dishes and honey wine is the perfect compliment to the savory flavors of the meal.

Definitely the 'Create Your Own' Combo, share with a friend if possible. The beets are yummy (and warm), the awash chicken and the spicy beef thing (can't remember the name). Super tasty! All of it!

Emily

Amazing! Order these to have your mind blown: honeyrun honeywine, vegan plate with double key sir alicha, one yemmisir kik wat, and double shiro . Meat eaters, create your own combo with special tibs !

Serious Eats

The Veg Combo piles include beets , red lentils , yellow split peas , cabbage , gomen (collards cooked with garlic and onion ) and shiro (ground and spiced chickpeas ).

The cabbage (yatakilt alicha) and the special tibs were great. As were the meat sambusas! Note that the injera is on the extra sour side. (The sambusas' sauce was cray good.)

There are two Ethiopian restaurants in the EV within 3-4 blocks of each other: Awash and Meskel (E 3rd St). It's a toss up which one is better. Both are great!

Himanshu Gupta

Great Ethiopian food selection. I would highly recommend the veggie plate and some Ethiopian beer .

Serious Eats

Among the city 's better Ethiopian restaurants . Vegetables are great, but the tartare is our favorite.

I've never had anything other than the vegetarian combo , and have never wanted anything other than the vegetarian combo . Try to get a seat at the boob table and you've got yourself an evening!

Blackberry honey wine is fantastic, and the entrees are fresh and top-notch. I'll be coming here very often!

Get the meat combo; you get four meats, choice of three delicious veg . dishes. African beers available. Friendly staff , relaxed atmosphere .

As everyone says the vegetarian combo is a great choice. The place is far too cold on a wintry night for my comfort though.
