Umi is a sophisticated twist on the Japanese Izakaya style of informal eating and drinking. The design of the restaurant mirrors a Japanese country house. The menu highlights the sake list through a wide range of Japanese and Pan-Asian dishes, sushi rolls and raw bar.

Ask to sit out in the outdoor/skylight area during the day. A ton of light comes in and there's a garden with a small waterfall . A very peaceful , calming environment .
The chef 's choice sashimi is amazing and offers the freshest fish of the day. Crunchy Lizard rolls and Street Fighter rolls are very tasty. Green Tea Tiramisù is a great way to end a great meal.
Surprisingly amazing for vegetarians ! We had the Lucky Leprechaun and Ladybug (seasonal special ). Modern take on sushi (not traditional but tasty and innovative).
Went late for happy hour . Some of the best sashimi I've ever had. Had the Sushi set A and the Seattle roll. The prawn appetizer was delicious too!
The moonraker roll was yummy, but spicy ! We enjoyed the omakase w/high-grade fish from locally & all over. The lychee sake cocktail & appetizers of black cod , salmon collars &geo duck were highlights!
Make sure to get your Open Table points by reserving a table online! Oh, and the pickles are fantastic. Nice and dark inside, too. Great ambiance.
Fantastic experience near Pike Place Market . Prices are reasonable, the sushi is fresh and the sake selection is excellent. Enjoy!
We have tasted more than ten different sushi types and all of them was awesome. Also sake is great. Reservation is needed for sure, it is very crowded at dinner time.
Get any fresh fish offered on their daily menu ! The wild salmon , white king salmon , sockeye salmon , and fresh uni sushi were great!
Impressed w the extensive food & drink menu. Quality of sashimi was great! Hotter Than Hell roll - yummy & spicy ! Orange Crush Roll was nice & sweet! Super cute place! Definitely recommend!

Seattle has a lot of Japanese influence, and this is one of the best places to eat and drink it. Or try their other location, Momiji.
Amazing sushi . The salmon grade is out of this world. You must try the Alaskan Salmon sashimi and Scallops sushi .
Cool ambiance, interesting restroom doors. Restaurant is fairly large and areas will be opened and closed as needed. Great sake selection and the salmon flight, when offered, is excellent.
Fantastically creative yet seemingly authentic at the same time some how. Great chirashi and special ❤️beet roll!
For a quiet , romantic meal: request a table in the back, behind the sushi bar . It's a separate room with dim light , where you can hear your date. Looked romantic , ahhh, next time.
Sit at the sushi bar after 11am. Great service and atmosphere.
Seaweed Salad . Salmon flight. Tuna belly . Kingpin. Spicy sunset . Mochi flight. Perfect meal for two! Casual atmosphere , great food.
Happy Hour is the best! 4:30 to 6:00. Get the Bad Boy Roll . It is fully cooked and has a little kick. Sushi set A is also amazing if you like sashimi .
Late night happy hour starts at 11p! As expected, the sake list is long and fun to explore
Good happy hour . I liked the ginger chicken , short ribs , crispy prawns , and agedashi tofu . No wait at 5:30 on a Friday
Went during their happy hours which is every day ( even saturday and sunday). Food was good and they have selection of japanese sake and beer .
Vegetable sushi is top notch! Great flavors and great plating. Fish is super fresh. Definitely coming back for more.
The Belltown Barbie roll was huge (and the BEST sushi I've had in my life). Plus this place was right by my hostel ! Cheers for Belltown!
I'm in love with the crunchy seattle roll . It's the best sushi yet! Definitely one of my favorite spots in Belltown :)
The Seattle roll is probably one of the most freshest rolls I've tried! And if you want something absolutely addicting, try the Rockstar and Scorpion roll. So dangerous...
The Buri-Hamachi with Uzura is amazing! Pair it with the 206 Roll, and it's perfect!
Awesome sushi . Highly reccommend. Happy hour is a must. Get there early or make a resy. These guys are always busy.
The happy hour menu is great. Try the Seattle roll! The short rib is also good.
My friend and I kept high giving each other during this meal because it was so good. Everything is delicious. Sake menu rocks.
Happy hour everyday from 4-6pm. Plenty of rolls and hot dishes to choose from and free edamame ! Great value .
Amazing HH prices for sashimi , sake , rolls. Nice vibe. Can't beat that for late night food.
Their omakase is really good. you can taste the freshness and flavour of the fish . altho it looks simple, it is just delicious
Amazing amazing sushi even better than Shiro . Must try Monalisa rolls
They have *incredible* food and service- even at the bar ! The sashimi of chef 's choice was an amazing experience of flavors.
Shocking ignorance of sake given the place's name. Nice fish , but no sushi master in evidence so for example "omakase " comes as a sampler set rather than piece by piece. Fun but not a destination.
The Bad boy roll is great... the service was really great at the bar ... clean
happy hour everyday 4-8pm at the bar ! $5 rolls and $8 for 5 pieces of sashimi , free edamame . green tea tiramisu was very good.
Can't wait to do HH on the patio , so very soon we hope! Bite Squad delivers your favorite Seattle dishes. Use CHECKIN on bitesquad.com for $10 OFF!
My favorite sushi place in Seattle. If you live spice, their rolls don't hold back. Awesome! Also, sign up for dining rewards at your favorite airline and earn miles here. Keeps me coming back!
Upscale because of the location... which includes price... but a great place to try the flight of sake . They know what they're doing. Food is just plain unquestioningly good.
Very delicious sushi here. You have to try the Mona Lisa and Tarantula dishes
Order the crunchy Seattle roll ! Soooo good during happy hour
The best Japanese restaurant and one of the best happy hours in Seattle. Great food, great ambience, and great service. Cannot go wrong at Umi's.
Happy hour here until 8 p.m. at the bar is a fantastic deal for high quality food. Sake was delicious.
Good sushi at a trendy sushi spot . The back room with the glass ceiling is nice
Great sushi ! Unique combination but always good.
Can’t really complaint with the happy hours here. The food is not bad either
I can't get past the 008 roll. Amazing! The fresh lime and jalapeño adds an amazing touch to the roll.
Great for vegetarians ! Try the Lucky leprechaun roll which is a avocado , mango based roll.
