If it's warm enough, stand on the upper deck and you may see some dolphins playing in the water on the way over to the fort! Read more

Park Rangers

There is normally a Ranger or Volunteer riding the boat, be sure to find them if you have a question while heading out to Fort Sumter.

Make sure you get there early to get a seat!

Fort Sumter National Monument

Remember that everyone needs a boarding pass to get on to the ferry . Boarding passes can be obtained on the main level of the Visitor Education Center.

Brittany McCullough

If you can, get in line early and sit on the second floor. It's air conditioned and well worth it.

Keith Cannizzaro

If it's cold outside, I would recommend the bottom deck. It's enclosed and heated!

John Fossitt

Get on the boat early and listen to everyone complain about standing.

Meghan D.

Needs cocktails :)

Francisco Ramirez

Be prepared. For those that tend to get seasick, the gift shop does not sell Dramamine.

Don't miss the submarine!! I could have stayed here all day but navigation was a bit treacherous with a 12 month old. Incredible bit of history and technology, would come back just for this. - Marynificent Bradley
